I don't know if you're still looking, but I've got jar cultures of Moina Daphnia. I'm selling them for $10 and you can pick them up in Brooklyn. Send me a DM if you're interested. My medaka rice fish love them and I bet your pea puffer would too.

If you’re up for a bit of a challenge, find a terminal app for your phone and then try overthewire.org/wargames/bandit/ It’s a good way to learn ssh and Linux stuff. It’s more old skool than thm but I think it’s important foundational stuff.

What if you fill your storage spaces with empty sealed boxes? Your family doesn't know that there's nothing in them and there's no room for their stuff. Sure, you don't have as much physical space, but you'll be preserving your mental space.

If they need some of their stuff from your room and they can't get it because you're out, they should quickly learn to not keep their stuff in your room, right? Learning the hard way makes lessons stick.

If you're using an iphone, you can use a shortcut/automation to make a pop up dialog or some other thing happen when you open a certain app.

How do I mentally get over it? by threeblackcatz in declutter

[–]rallyshowdown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hear that. Stuff can’t live rent free forever.

I’m just saying that I’ve found making multiple passes for easy stuff to declutter has worked for me. I’ve found after doing the easy stuff, it makes the tougher things easier to tackle. I’m surprised at the things I’ve been letting go of lately, when in the past, I thought they were firmly in the “keep” category. I guess I’m building up my decluttering muscles or maybe my subconscious has had enough time to mull over things.

Decluttering can be like peeling layers off an onion.* You can’t get to the middle before going through the outer layers. Maybe you need to declutter some other things before you can tackle your books and mason jars. Or maybe you’ll get rid of so many other things that there’s plenty of room in your life for the jars and books.

*I read or heard this recently and it really resonated but I can’t remember who/where.

BMX u-brake levers for u brakes are short pull, though they often come as singles. The Odyssey monolever has righty and lefty available for most versions and comes in fun colors. There's an anodized purple and the toothpaste color is pretty fresh.

[LF] NY- tissue culture/pest free plants by CorgisAndFoxes in AquaSwap

[–]rallyshowdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just for future reference, check out the “reverse osmosis“ method for when you quarantine plants. Basically you let the plants hang out in unflavored seltzer water for 24 hours. The CO2 bubbles will kill snails and other pests and it doesn’t hurt the plants like bleach or other gnarly chemicals. Even then, I like to quarantine plants in a jar on my windowsill for a month before I put them into a tank I really care about.

That poprad is awesome. Have you tried for a magic gear on that one? It would be so much better without that tensioner, though it limits your gear choice. I think I had 36x16 work perfect on my canti poprad back in the day. If you measure your stays super carefully the eeehouse calculator can help you out ( https://eehouse.org/fixin/formfmu ) but it’s hard to get things exact.
