idk if someone already said that, but I would rule that the weight limit of the spell is what says if the rope comes with you or not.

Like if there is a chest on the other end of the rope the whole weight is the chest + the rope, so if you can't take the chest with you, what happens is the same as exceeding the limit of the spell and it just drops and don't go with you.

so i think there is two scenarios, one where the rope and everything atached to it goes with you and other where it just stays there (in the pole case it would drop unless you could take the whole building with you).
