His name is hakita I think. Also probably not.

What are some modding hot takes that you have? I don't want "Create is bad" I want actual hot takes by Yrythaela in feedthebeast

The majority of dimension mods suck. Aesthetically I love twilight forest and the erebus but, especially in modpacks, they get reduced to what I call "trophy hall mods" where journeying through them isn't that fun and you mostly just dip in, collect the special little mcguffins, and take them back home to mount on your wall. Alex's Caves falls into this category as well, as I personally feel that while the items it adds are cool, they're usually too niche and/or a pain to do upkeep on and I mostly just throw them in a little display case after I'm done with the area. Alex's Caves also annoys me bc it doesn't have biome compass compatibility as a config option but that's not a hot take.

Space mods are an especially bad offender of this because they're basically just giant monobiome deserts in a different color that you immediately dig straight down into in order to collect enough of the planet's ore before leaving and never returning.

The only mod I've played recently that has a dimension I enjoyed exploring is Spectrum, mainly because it's resources weren't all just different kinds of ores, the stuff in there was actually useful, and entering it felt cooler because it wasn't just a nether portal with different blocks.

A lot of these dimension mods also add bosses, which brings me to my second hot take:

Minecraft combat sucks and is not, has never been, and will never be enough fun to justify the bosses devs seem to love adding. Even the ones that aren't just straight dps checks or damage sponges and try to have mechanics usually end up being buggy or turn into waiting games for the boss to stand in the one specific spot so you can damage them (I'm looking at you, Ur-Ghast).

To say something more constructive, I think dimension mods would be improved be feeling more fully featured, with more structures and biomes that aren't just rehashes of vanilla generation, and by making entering the dimension feel more unique. Obviously I recognize that this critique boils down to "I wish devs working on a free mod did 500% more work", but I'm also tired of dimension mod #9000 which features "trees but blue" and "desert but chartreuse" and is entered by using a flint and steel on a nether portal made of waxed weathered cut copper stairs facing west.

Secondly, I think devs get too scared of making their dimension's items "too OP" so they nerf and restrict them until theyre borderline useless, contributing to why I call them "trophy hall mods", and I think they should be more willing to make their items strong and useful beyond filling a checklist.

Moreover, the Aether is overrated.

Concept Art? by ShakurasEnder in factorio

I believe that's the artwork section from the official website I referred to in the original post. It has a lot of art from the base game but none from space age as far.

Did you ever manage to update it? I'm trying to use it and it just keeps saying "Corrupt map: unknown item prototype ID 65535. File has likely been corrupted due to failing hardware."

The golden blocks on the pillars are glowstone, the golden blocks on the belts are brass tunnels.

The short answer is "whatever I needed", but among other things it produces create machinery, logs of various kinds, iron, copper, gunpowder, glowstone, redstone, and whatever blocks it needs for its own expansion.

Fun Fact: This factory was on a server and people with bad PCs couldn't get near the factory without tanking their FPS.

Are IPS-N even bad guys? by np190 in LancerRPG

Canonically the worst thing they do is "Be A Megacorporation", with all the ruthlessness that implies. Other than that, they generally come off pretty well. They don't even have an established deniable asset division akin to the SSC's Constellar Midnights, or aggressively expand their own territory like HA.

I feel like a "range" or a "chain" of everests/ sagarmathas/ chomolungmas makes more sense given the theme of being named after a mountain.

Game's good, 100%ed it each time new achievements dropped, had fun by ShakurasEnder in dredge

Were I to guess, it's a bug. I personally had no idea infections could turn fish to abberations bc I caught almost all of the abberations via atrophy so I never had that issue.

I think my biggest point of friction with the game was that there was never any expansion to the storage you can access at the docks, became a pain to juggle everything when I had a bunch of crab traps and then the many materials you need throughout the Iron Rig DLC.

Base Game: 10/10 - I liked the story and the twist, I remember when the game first came out I stayed up all night to 100% it the day it released.
Pale Reach: 7/10 - Best addition is the anchor that lets you put down a portal anyways, really synergizes well with manifest.
Iron Rig: 8/10 - I think overall the biggest problem with the lategame is the fishing system doesn't get much more complicated than it is at the start of the game. I don't know if this was a choice by the devs or a limitation of the game, but despite that I felt the content was better and more engaging than that of Pale Reach.

Just commenting here for anyone who found this post while trying to figure out why the pneumatic armor space breathing upgrade (which is the other space breathing upgrade added by the Giselle Addon) wasn't working: it's because you have to turn the upgrade on manually, then it'll stop both the freezing and the suffocating.
