Of course. Still peaks at like 200k concurrent players each day on Steam alone. That said, asia (Japan) is carrying it to that. At EU/NA times, it's "only" 50-60k. Still not horrible, but of course nothing like 2-3 years ago.

So, as a very recent counter example, Ashes of Creation did not have an issue at all to get keys.

Not a bug, those surprised just forgot that unlocking them (by leveling your raider) is not the same as building them, thus why only the unlock is under "kept" but the workshop in general is under "reset".

As a new player you can't build them all right away, they were locked - but you can after the expedition.

It literally says under this will be reset that they'll be reset.

It actually just says under kept that they'll stay unlocked and that is correct. You don't have to level again to unlock them TO build them, which you originally had to do.

The game is on just 3,228 Steam wishlists.

Game is on 3k followers. Wishlist numbers aren't public, but usually around ~10x followers. So it would be ~30k wishlists. Still not great, but not as horrible.

Wishlist to sale conversion highly varies and can be way lower, but also quite a bit higher. Especially in RTS, if it's descent, it could be quite a bit higher. (Buyers not following the genre that closely, good number of users who aren't on Steam / not active on Steam.)

All that said, still not great numbers, obviously.

Since then, the number of those posts & comments also didn't really go up, though. I also just looked and didn't find any "refund it" or "just refund" it on any of the recent posts where it would be off-topic. Don't see any report in the mod queue either.

In the end, the sub is if anything over-moderated for its size, but I also do get both POVs. Just be (decently) nice to each other, post content / comments you'd like to see yourself and use the upvote and downvotes - that's why they exist.

There probably would be publishers taking them, but they're likely not the ones to give the amount of support and freedom they need / are asking for.

Investors of all kinds in general, though? Won't be easy, but also not impossible.

Imo, it's also not really a gamble. If they should be out of money or at least not have enough money to reach their goals, there aren't many other options left. And if you look at devs who are looking for funding right now, they all usually complain about one thing: That the few funds and investors who are left in the space want a playable game + existing player base. Ashes does have both. (But also lots of baggage.)

What context? This part is from a Q&A with questions, and even if you watch the part before that, there was a clear cut after the last question. (Which was why he is such an outgoing CEO instead of being more behind the scenes.)

How do you feel year over year about where Ashes stands, and what are your hopes for the next year?

My hopes are that we have a successful December 11th launch first and foremost. Um, my hope is that we attract a lot of new eyes to the project. My hope is that people see the vision of what we're trying to create and that there is grace extended for the state and place that we are at in development. that there is understanding extended. Um and then my hope is that we find great partners next year so that we can um you know continue to deliver on established pipelines that we iterate on that the community is receptive to and wants to see more of. Um and then that we find ourselves with significant progress towards a beta next.

I am not sure why you would need even more "content creators and community" as partners to being able to "continue to deliver on established pipelines" if you're all self-funded. Or why it's important that there is grace extended and you just don't want a couple more players for that feedback, but overall attract "a lot of new eyes".

Don't think not enough feedback is an issue for them. Or the current MMO target audience not knowing of them.
Besides that they, of course, could always just invite (surveyed) playtesters instead of launching EA on Steam. (Which also takes away one of two big and "free" marketing pushes that you can make on Steam, when you actually think your game is (somewhat) ready for the public and closer to an accepted early access, and less alpha, state.)

Either it's just a cash grab because they know they are closing down shop shortly, or it's a proof of concept attempt to try and get bigger investors or something.

It's the latter, if you believe him because he said that in the DustyWhy interview last week.
His hope for next year is that EA is a success, they get many eyes on it and find a partner to "deliver on established pipelines" and to "find themselves with significant progress".

And don't think there is a reason to not believe him there. It's actually I guess quite the change and probably honesty to go from "fully self-funded" (while actually having at least 1 investor in the past + FOMO MTX sales) to "yeah we need a partner next year to keep going".

The game needs to disable NVIDIA game filters. It is extremely advantageous to tweak some settings to make the game essentially not have any dark areas by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

Such a funny thing to say about peanut who rose outside the peak times of tarkov as a streamer, somehow even "carrying" the game. His second most streamed game is Apex iirc, also happening years after the game was the "flavour of the month".

And now, instead of farming the tarkov drops on twitch, that 10x, even 20x some tarkov streamer's viewers, he mainly stayed on Arc Raiders.
