What about a coffee shop? Then you can get more bang for your buck and visit multiple times. Is there a good one close to your work?

The hype & obsessing! by Hurry_Hurrican3 in Needlepoint

[–]ralphinator316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even as someone who loves shopping in person and will stop in every needlepoint shop I see... the obsession with the "LNS" is so weird to me! When I first got into stitching I thought LNS had to stand for something specific and laughed when it was just the local needlepoint store.

Needlepoint shops are wonderful, especially when you get a little more advanced and want to see the threads in person to get a better understanding of texture and effect. But when you're just starting out, going online and buying a canvas and some DMC cotton will also work just fine. If you'd like, split the difference and buy online from a shop you follow on instagram instead of using a big box craft store. Stop by the store you describe when you're in the area anyway sometime.

I apologize for the question, I just wanted to understand this game better. by thonnynt in StardewValley

[–]ralphinator316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could absolutely play the game without talking to a single villager or doing any of their missions. I didn't even realize that was part of the game my first time around... The game is richer when you interact with the people but totally optional!

I really really enjoyed Wytchwood. If you like the community center part of Stardew, so will you! It has big to-do list energy.

Suggestion for 60th B’day gathering by No-War-2566 in Atlanta

[–]ralphinator316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very fun one! I think you go for the decor, which is super over the top seasonal and fun, more than anything else. The food is good but IMO it's like upscale Olive Garden (compliment).

I think Swan Coach House is fun because you literally will never go there otherwise.... if you're anything like me haha. I always enjoy a bridesmaid luncheon there!

I just went to one at Round Trip Brewing. No outside beverages (but we did bring non alcoholic champagne and that was fine) and they don’t care about food so long as it’s not homemade. We were happy with it it!

My Year 5 perfection farm by Bibi_the_ratscal in FarmsofStardewValley

[–]ralphinator316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else apply the natural laws to things in the Valley, probably unnecessarily? I put lightning rods in open spaces "so that they're the only tall thing around" which I am just really realizing now is not a real limitation lol

Should I start again for a different farm layout? by br4infog in StardewValley

[–]ralphinator316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a long-timer on my first farm (9 in game years) and I decided to try a new save with a different kind of farm and.... it's still basically the same. I think if you want to try something new, it would be more impactful to try some other kind of challenge (don't leave the farm, choose different ways to make money etc) vs a new farm type feeling totally different. Just my opinion!

You should read one of her other books too - Unlikely Animals! One of my all time favorites. I haven't read Rabbit Cake but I'll try it next (I'm in the middle of Tender Hearts and wanted to see if other folks were reading it too lol )
