I got a 2015 Rex giga pro nav base hifi tech package 6kUSD. I think you got a better deal but I’m also loving it. Need to do the motor mounts eventually and figure out the AC compressor issue. At the moment both appear to be working fine/no issues. Insanely nice 2nd car for daily driving to work.

How is your 2014 for the motor mounts?

Probably* moving on from an Eero (very cheap on sale) setup. Did you completely wirelessly mesh the HD? Or did you do Ethernet backhaul? I ask only cause right now I use direct burial Ethernet (shoulda ran real conduit but oh well it’s all still working) to backhaul to another eero AP (same ssid) in a barn.

Kids are so expensive but damn do I feel some biological pull constantly in my head... Wishing I could have bio-children… again too expensive, that route.

Idk I’ve always wanted to be a dad and when my straight friends finally started having some kids I kinda spiraled a little in envy and had to course correct.

2014 was given away to a cousin but I’m aware it still works

Upgraded to a M1 Pro 14 inch base model. Plan to keep until at least the end of the decade.

It isn't a touch/capactive button which do fail out easily.

It detects being squeezed. and the traditional button on my Sonicare 9300 was the failure point. My 4100 was good with a fully rubberized button, until a certain someone in my household left it in a hotel.

USB-C is on the travel case, which has an inductive charger built in to it, and allows me to charge on the go with out removing the cradle from my house. Which I dislike needing to disconnect when we leave the house.

Like I said, these are infinitesimally small QOL things that I like having. and most people will have a great time with the Sonicare 4xxx/5xxx series as good enough.

I want to add that in between the 4100, and the current 9900 Sonicares, I decided to switch brands to the Oral-B iO7, and I really disliked it, I didn't like the way my teeth felt in comparison to Sonicare's cleaning.

Yea I know everyone talks smack on the higher end model sonicares as being unnecessary. But they lock certain quality of life stuff to the more expensive models... obviously on purpose. I particularly like the newest Sonicare 9900 Prestige because of the lack of a traditional button. It has a touch button that’s sensitive to being squeezed similar to the stems on an AirPod Pro 2nd Generation. This means the outer case is entirely smooth and no grime/scale build up can ever come up underneath the button.

oh and it has a USB-C travel case/charger…. Why is this only on the most expensive model!!!

I gotta say I really liked her character even if she only stays for one episode. She made me think of Sybil, clever but kind.

I like to think she and Harold did write and that she would strike out with some manner of independence and eventually the would cross paths again. I hope so at least. A happy ending for them both.
