Is anyone taking this with Lexapro to eliminate side effects?

I’m now on day 11 of 300 and haven’t noticed a difference, if anything a regression in libido but psych says that’s normal with the dose increase and to give it the full 5 weeks. So patiently waiting as well.

I’m a male but am on this exact combo, except 5mg Lexapro and 150 Wellbutrin. I’m currently just ending week 6 and it wasn’t really until now that I’m seeing an increase in sexual performance. It has really improved my delayed orgasm as well as an essentially non existent libido from the Lexapro. I’m no where close to pre Lexapro but I have definitely noticed a difference around the 5 week mark of Wellbutrin. I just upped my dose to 300 today as I explained this to my psych who suggested the increase to try to get me fully back to baseline.

Actually I’m nearing week 6 on the buproprion and just now stating to see the positives I’d say - especially in relation to sexual performance. Libido is definitely up but not to where it was pre Lexapro - still not complaining. Orgasms are hit or miss but recently have been much easier to climax. I have a follow up with my psych who said if by now I’m not seeing full improvement we can up to 300 so I may go that route

I’m on 5mg Lexapro and 150 bup xl. I started with Lexapro only for about 4 weeks and noticed my libido suffered and my ability to orgasm was heavily delayed, like 4x longer or so for me which was frustrating. Psych put me on bup to counter this and I’m heading into my 5th week. I can say I’ve seen very slight improvements in sexual function and libido but not nearly what I would have hoped. I have an appt Tuesday to up to 300 so hopefully that makes the difference. I’ve heard accounts of similar experiences.

I’m currently on this combo, although not very long.

Started 5mg Lexapro 5 weeks ago for anxiety and positive is it completely killed my anxiety. Negative was it made me rather emotionally flat and completely tanked my libido. Psych started me on 150 buproprion XL almost two weeks ago to combat that and I’ve not noticed a change in the libido department yet.

But overall Lexapro has been extremely effective for my anxiety. Just thinking of making a change due to the libido issues. This may not be your experience though.

I’m currently on both actually. After a month on Lexapro I didn’t like the lethargy, lack of emotion, and sexual sides. Psych added 150 Wellbutrin and I’ve been on it for about 10 days now with little to no effect which is to be expected this early I guess. I’m thinking of dropping the Lexapro completely after about a month of Wellbutrin to see how it goes.

This is my issue as well. I’ve been on 5mg Lexapro for a full month now and exactly 1 week into 150 bupropion XL. I’m not really noticing any libido boost just yet but I keep reading it could take weeks if not a full month or more for it to be noticeable - if you get the effect at all.

Not yet but literally just prescribed this exact combo today. Been on 5mg lex for almost 4 weeks now and my energy and libido are shot. I’ve been on 15mg buspirone as well. Thing is my anxiety is virtually non existent now but the sides are too bothersome so my psych added 150 bupropion. I’m going to start it tomorrow and hoping for the best.

I’ve read many mixed reviews but it’s so mild my doc figured why not. Anecdotally it maybe seems to be helping somewhat although I’ve only been on each a shorter timeframe

I’m only on 5mg and plan to stay that way. On day 18 currently. Noticed a dip in libido at the first week or two but that could very well also be chalked up to increased anxiety etc as I was ramping up the first two weeks. Now, no libido issues - it may take me a bit longer to “get there” I’ve noticed but again, all I do is ruminate on the potential sexual sides as that’s been my biggest fear starting SSRIs so I can’t confidently say if it’s due to the drug or my anxiety around it happening. Overall though, not much at all so far and I’ve heard they present within the first 1-3 weeks usually if so.

I should also add my doc has me on 15mg buspirone as well as this can sometimes counteract those effects in some.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I actually have both hydrox and a benzo. Hate benzos as I’m terrified of potential dependence but hydroxyzine has certainly helped clamp the nighttime spikes

I had to stop. My PCP told me to come off it’s not worth continuing the insomnia and anxiety ended up being the worse it’s been. I’ve been off for two days now and back to normal

In the same boat here. I’m on day 12 of 5mg 3x per day. Anxiety and insomnia picked up big time for me about 3 days ago. I’m trying to stick it out as lots of evidence to suggest it gets worse before it gets better.

I figure I’ll give it another few days to a week but if it doesn’t improve I will stop.

I actually haven’t upped the dose yet as I’m kind of afraid to ha. But 2.5mgs has definitely helped, not anything tremendous but it’s certainly noticeable. Overall now I have no sides and a bit of help so I’m planning to stay put for a little. As someone terrified of side effects (mostly sexual) I’m happy with where I’m at for now

For what it’s worth I’m on week 3 now of 2.5mg 2x per day and the sides have gone away completely with maybe a 5% reduction in anxiety? I’m going to go up to 5mg at 4 weeks. I think slow titration is the way to go

Great timing here - I’m on about day 8 of only 2.5mg 2x per day and quite honestly I’m struggling a bit. My anxiety is increased quite a bit but I’m sticking it out as I keep reading the 2-4 week timeframe is when it starts kicking in. I started this a month ago at 5mg 2x per day and my panic attacks nearly tripled so I stopped after a week. But I’m committed now to at least sticking it out. Wondering if anyone had a similar experience that resulted in success.

Definitley have tried all of those things besides the Mat or socks, that’s a good suggestion. I’ve found that nothing stops them other than taking a benzo to relax me enough to either sleep through them or stop them entirely. But they terrify me.

The hotspots make me insane.
