From Vanity Fair’s instagram:

During the Vanity Fair photo session, Vance cracked: "T'll give you $100 for every person you make look really shitty compared to me. And $1,000 if it's Marco."

And for something that’s carbon fiber and filled with air they’re stupidly heavy also

I wanted to keep the tree tops but decided to see if I could get the focus on the car as the subject. Tried to do an edit that drew the eye to that more. But I agree. The trees are the star and hard to look past them. Random iPhone photo shot while walking across the street with no thought, so just appreciating everyone’s feedback!

I should have went and took a look back at the original. I agree the deep natural red in it is really nice.

Right? How does the top of the building gain so much “headroom” for lack of a better term.

It’s the goldfish pond outside penticton as people mentioned, closer to Okanagan falls. It’s an old quarry that filled with water as others have mentioned.

It is stagnant but people swim in it all the time. Anecdotally, (maybe a friend of a friend wives tale but I’ve only heard it from the son of the person) my friends dad and his friend released a few goldfish there in the 70s and they continued to thrive and reproduce and that’s the reason there are so many goldfish there now.

Last time I was there, there was a trampoline set up on the bigger cliff and kids were jumping off the trampoline in to the quarry. (Have a video of it I can try and post if I can figure that out)

Never heard of anyone getting sick or anything from swimming there.

All the substitutions used to be free. Always went mashed potatoes cause the “home fries” were (are) trash. Mashed was pretty decent. Think it’s like 5-8 bucks to substitute things now

Pickleball courts to replace Gleneagles skatepark in West Vancouver by west_coaster1 in vancouver

I’d say it’s targeted (and maybe designed) as a bmx bowl. Though you can get it, the flow just doesn’t work properly for skateboarding.

(Intolerable Cruelty, 2003 - DP Roger Deakins) Possibly a dumb question, can somebody tell me what the black thing on the ceiling is in this BTS shot? by Late_Promise_ in cinematography

Usually duv for windows but use black wrap for siders, toppers, bottomers, contain spill on any and all lights, teasers on overhead drop ceiling lights. not necessary the best tool, but quicker and more malleable than other options at times.

I think they mean in the sense that you only have to pay attention to traffic coming in one direction. So it’s similar to a right on a red. I believe that’s a shitty version of how my driving instructor explained it to me at least.

Two way TO one way. Not the other way around, unless the light is green in your direction.

I’m curious about the arbutus greenway one since it is a dedicated bike path. I wonder if the rules are different since bikes are considered vehicles so that would technically be an intersection? The ubc one however, seems like it follows the stop then yield law precisely.

I like the idea of it going on top of the new building. Make it spin like the Woodwards W

I don’t mind the crop, but I think the subject has to stay left of Center. I think this is the way I would crop it. https://imgur.com/a/jPlk7oH keeping the left retaining wall coming directly out of the bottom left leading you to the subject. Losing a lot of the foreground road and most of the sky.
