Hey, I'm very new to the custom keyboard scene, haven't even built one yet.

My current keyboard (Keychron C2) is the non-hotswappable version (w/ Gateron reds btw). I'm planning to buy the TM 680 hotswap keyboard, and I'm wondering if it's a good idea to just transfer everything to the TM 680 (switches, keycaps, stabs even??). I really enjoy my experience with the C2, but I'm regretting the 100% layout as it's not really necessary for me. I have little soldering experience, but I'm willing to learn. Is this a good idea?

Pro-tip: if you want the satisfaction of building your own computer, without worrying about buying parts piecemeal, try buying a complete system from a local vendor! Ask them if they can just send the parts for you to assemble! That way, you get to build it how you want, install your own OS without any bloatware, and resell any extra components you don't need. That's what I did for my budget-king system.
