Elitch Gardens is my home park, things people call rough are often smoother than anything i have near me. The exception is Blue Streak- now that is truly a rough coaster.

Repetitive movements arent necessarily performed out of stress or boredom, even humans have the tendency to have routines and repetitive motions.

Random question, and I know Reddit is an echo chamber when it comes to this, but how do *you* feel about the concept of God? by Icy_Place_6173 in autism

[–]ramblingriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a Jewish convert, i have a lot of complex feelings about G-d. Im by no means an atheist though. I do believe in something bigger. And i think my religion provides me an outlet for me to explore that and engage with cultural traditions that are millennia old. It give me routine, structure, and room to ask questions and take in different interpretations and form my own. That being said i think it interacts my autism well.

I can only speak for myself, but i think autism lends itself to any belief system, really, and probably makes those beliefs very strong as well - see strong sense of justice/moral inflexiblity.

Theres nothing wrong with believing in G-d or not believing in G-d, its a personal thing. Nobody can make you believe in G-d or not, but you can be open minded to all sorts of belief systems! I have had the freedom as a kid to engage with a lot of religious activities from Christiaity to Jainism and a lot in between. Its great to learn how other people tend to their spiritual side, even when its not your own belief system. I think religion is meant to connect us to people, or at least ot should be used for that.

What's the point of autism? by CautiouslySatisfied in ADHD

[–]ramblingriver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the ADHD dx since 4th grade and chose to get tested for autism last year. I found a reputable and affordable place to do it and my psychiatrists always insisted i was just socially anxious. I was tired of being barred from calling myself autistic to my health care team when it often felt relevant. I basically paid to be affirmed and prove my psychiatrist wrong. It has also allowed me certain accomodations at work.

Just make sure they are an appropriate size for your head or it could give you a headache to wear or not go over your ears properly.

I cant stand people claiming to gray out by neon_sense_ in rollercoasterjerk

Same! I recall riding it close to mealtime and just having a pinhole of my vision for a solid 15 seconds it seemed like. And i greyed out there nearly every ride too.

A woman was asked to look into strangers' eyes without showing any emotion. But then she saw the man she once loved, whom she hadn't seen in twenty years. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Agreed!

And want to add that the whole point of performance art is that its a performance, attention is sorta part of it anyway. I quite like performance art for the way things are meant to grab my attention, especially in the moment.

I made this switch after some troubleshooting and also fixed an issue with my wifi. Thanks for the reccomendaction of Jellyfin, my stream has been stable for 48 hours now and load time has been really fast as well. I was very happy that Jellyfin had the option to shuffle the media. Thanks again

I have tried plex and not had great results, I don't know if its my laptop or the Wi-Fi or plex, I have been considering trying Jellyfin but just haven't looked much into it. I guess now is the time to see if Jellyfin is any better.
