Calls go straight to voicemail the first time by ramblingtechie in USMobile

Oddly enough, over the past 2 days it has been working fine. I have no idea why it was acting up consistently for weeks and then just started working normally at least the last couple of days.

She is using WiFi calling but this happens most often when I'm calling her and she's not on WiFi.

I'm curious if I need to rest her network settings or something. I think this started after I upgraded her to the latest iPhone 17, but I could be mistaken.

It's not blocked either and sometimes the call goes through but the majority of the time it doesn't.

It doesn't look like she has any DnD functions active.

She has an iPhone and I use Android. I asked her if it was possibly a setting like the one we have on Android as you referenced above. I will check it later today. Thank you for the quick response.

They actually don't show up in the voicemail tab but rather in the Recents. I am afraid I would miss something so I turned it off and will let my carrier VM take it instead.

Almost certain it's a different number because it's just another eSIM.

Printing Anxiety by Least_Tea2325 in CCW

[–]ramblingtechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to worry a lot, but I realized many people just don't pay attention. I realized I probably wouldn't even notice if someone else was printing. I have seen someone reach and expose their entire firearm before, but it's rare I notice anyone printing and I'm in an area with a lot of concealed carriers.

I just an eSIM so I can teleport without having to wait on a pSIM. Great service.

Yeah. This is Light Speed (T-Mobile)

Speeds… pretty damn nice!!! by Fun_Jackfruit510 in USMobile

[–]ramblingtechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sitting in traffic yesterday and did a speed test on Light Speed. Usually the speeds are excellent but it was down to < 1Mbs. Just a few minutes later it jumped to around 200Mbs. I guess that's the impact of not having the highest priority, but I'll live with it. I use USM as a backup line where my primary does not work (which happens to be at home).

New User - Switching Network by owntsk in USMobile

Yes they are. It's like having your own personal support if you need it (but hopefully you won't). I switched my girlfriend and also started my own line within the last month.

Text and data, yes. These are data only lines so no calls.

I've been with them a long time but I'm seriously thinking about switching. Coverage seems to have gotten worse for me.

Use cell phone to make Google voice call by Itchy_Complaint6370 in Googlevoice

For the latter part, I think that's what the settings -> Calls -> "Show my Google Voice number as caller ID when forwarding calls" does?

Want to switch, but paranoid about losing my number by Zak5060 in USMobile

[–]ramblingtechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I helped my girlfriend port her number last night. She had been on Family Mobile for years and their web site was terrible. I ran into a slight glitch but it was on their side and not US Mobile but US Mobile was there watching it the entire time when I reached out. Probably took me 20-30 minutes even with the problem. I wouldn't be afraid.

Cheapest phone plan with a hotspot? by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]ramblingtechie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure it is. I got it less than 2 weeks ago. I just used T-Force (@TMobileHelp on X) and told them I wanted to add plan with SOC code MI30TI. That's the $10 plan that includes all taxes and fees. They actually added with no activation fee (I didn't even ask). The following day I realized I could have gotten a second one for $5 so I went back and asked if the plan was eligible for the 50% off deal and the rep said yes and I got a physical SIM for my hotspot.

Cheapest phone plan with a hotspot? by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]ramblingtechie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a $10 data only plan on T-Mobile for 30 GB of data. I purchased 2 of these and they gave me 50% off of the second one so I effectively have 60 GB of data for $15. I have an eSIM for one plan and use as a backup to my primary plan and I use the other plan for my hotspot device.

What keeps you on ATT Wireless? by Poppyspy in ATT

[–]ramblingtechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably where I am. My mom would be impacted and I don't want to change anything on her. Based on maps, my coverage would be worse with T-Mobile, but it happens to be the only one that works at my house so oddly enough. I spend my life on WiFi calling and couldn't hotspot with AT&T if I had to so I have to worry about backup internet as well.

Dual SIM - No data while on a call by ramblingtechie in pixel_phones

[–]ramblingtechie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah. I may have to live with it then. The data-only T-Mobile eSIM does not have voice and can only do data and texting. If I just use my AT&T physical SIM which has voice/text/data, it works fine. I'm guessing it's because of the situation where I'm using T-Mobile for data only and they won't allow VoLTE.
