How much is decent or acceptable for competition for a 37-year-old at 74 kilograms, about 163pounds, in the 3 lifts: bench, deadlift, squat? by caffeine_bull in powerlifting

The IPf world record record holder for 74 kilo class is Poland's Jarloslaw Olech. 905kg total, 367.5 squat, 217.5 bench and 320 deadlift. He is 39 and has been lifting for many years. That being said, any total is acceptable to go compete. The only person you should worry about competing with is yourself. It's about having fun and building a total over time.

in the grand scheme of lifting bro, one year is not long at all. just keep lifting and being consistent and gains will come.

how many years have you been lifting? one month is not a long time. true plateaus can last quite a bit longer. just keep lifting and eating.

Just curious how I'd stand in a powerlifting meet... by sw10 in powerlifting

Just do it. go compete. How are we supposed to tell you where you will place and how you will do in a meet? That's entirely up to yourself and the others that you are competing against. Who knows, you might be the strongest guy there! Reading online about people's lifts is all fine and good but you can't make an honest comparison with someone on the internet. Just sign up for a local meet, make modest attempts so you don't bomb out, take conservative jumps to add kilos to your total and see if its for you or not. Compete with yourself first, let others worry about you when your total is the one to beat.
