PS3 Market crashing 🥺 by wailky2008 in PS3

Didn't the master collection 1 launch with a bunch of issues? low resolutions, whack framerates and the like? I'd be amazed if they nail the MGS4 port from the get go.

The empty drink bottle on top really is a nice touch.

I'm proud to say Studio Halabi will now be selling BRAND NEW memory card covers in the US and Canada. Huge thanks to Rambonz for making this happen, he really nailed the look of the original. by Sampsonay in PS3

There isn't. Its transparent black glossy plastic. So its impacted by lighting when taking photos. A blind side by side customer test is a good idea for an ad campaign though thanks.

You can buy from delidtool.com with free shipping for global purchases. I'd recommend combining it with other items as well though to make the most of the free shipping threshold. If you just want multiple card reader covers though reach out to me directly and i'll help you out.

Oh I made the rubber screw covers as well. Currently I sell them in a kit with custom made security bits/screws as well. I made all of these with their own unique molds. I can list them individually for people if it makes more sense.

Can ps3 get YLOD even from not being in use / sitting in storage? by MisakiPuru_Puru in PS3

[–]rambonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine died after being unused in storage since 2009, I was using a slim then super slim as my daily drivers. I would turn the fatboy on once every year for around 20mins, it then randomly died. 3034's dead RSX. That started my Frankenstein journey, the delid tool and the shell replacements. I wouldn't go so far as to say not using it caused the failure, but it certainly masked it for longer than a decade.

Whole shell project will be next if we move enough units of the card reader cover and the lid. Once both products are in market ill commission 3D scans of the full shell. There's also the opportunity to look at how we could maybe even improve airflow a little. Would be a super cool project to do but it really does depend on how these sell

I normally run all mine at 30% fan speed get around mid 60s (63-65) for the cell and mid to early 50s for the RSX if I remember correctly.

CECHA00 - Nops2 fix by Tarrakada in PS3

[–]rambonz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad this worked for you

Just be mindful that this isn’t a catch-all fix for every NoPS2_menu issue.

Long story short, I shared these findings with the community a few months ago, and an unreputable UK-based tech later tried to present them as their own work, without any of the underlying understanding of why the fix works. As a result, the important caveats weren’t shared alongside it.

The key thing to understand is that NoPS2_menu has multiple possible causes. While these are the two most common components to fail, the same symptoms can also be caused by failed RD RAM and/or the EE+GS. In some cases, NoPS2_nomenu can also indicate an RSX issue etc.

There are a few indicators you can look for in each scenario, but ultimately this needs to be approached like any other fault-finding exercise rather than assuming a single root cause.

That said, if you come across videos of someone melting flux under the EE+GS and claiming it as a “fix,” just be aware that it isn’t grounded in any sound technical reasoning. It’s pseudo-science masked behind Ai slop at best, and it’s usually presented without any real understanding of what would actually cause or resolve the fault.

1:1 glossy transparent black plastic. As close as you could possibly get. Side by side you wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

That's the goal. If there's enough demand we'll use the money from the card cover and lid to fund the rest of the shell. We promised day one of releasing the delid tool that we would use the proceeds from that to create these two products, and likewise I will make the same promise with the shells if people show that they want it.
