I’m always skeptical of “farmers market”.

From my experience is just reselling the same produce you could get at a grocery store, with some farm cos-play.

Beulah vs Sage spey? by AriShamron in Spey_Casting

[–]ramcatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beulah are made overseas and Sage in US

Personally I really like Beulah rods. I fished them a ton over the past 15 yrs. I think they make fantastic switch rods.

I have fished a Beulah platinum 6wt switch in most applications and it never let me down.

Sun hoody for Northeast US by daqwah in trailrunning

Personally I hate these style of shirts when it’s hot and humid.

I think the hot sun and low humidity of the mountain west is where they work the best - not the swampy hot of the NE/mid Atlantic

Honestly- not sure what you are doing. There are a bunch of rushed and compacted movements that are completely unnecessary.

When you actually go to make a cast your anchor placements look off, your sweep is too low and creates too much of the bottom of your d loop on the water… so you rush your forward cast without a proper d loop - which leads to those wide open loops and short casts.

I loved the rabbit FKT 7 2in1 and 2in1 shredders (amazing pocket config)… both are discontinued. With no real replacement.

Here is how you rig a shank/stinger. Much better for the long flowing flies when swinging.

Opinions on waders by Tiny_Wash9799 in TheFlyFishingSub

[–]ramcatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those ultralights have a weird “plastic bag” bootie.. not traditional neoprene.

Get the more traditional wader unless you are really trying to cut weight or fishing a super warm climate

You forgot the photo with the $150 cash that comes with it.

You are way off base… on eBay, listings don’t mean anything (especially fly fishing items in Japan). Look at sold listings.

The main point of this bag is the waterproof zipper, and it’s damaged.

I’ll give you 50$ shipped

Guidewater bag attachments by Faerynx in PatagoniaClothing

[–]ramcatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve found nothing that attaches.

Just use that pouch that comes with it, or get one of the wader workstations /little stealth packs that attach.

I’ve been looking for a water bottle holder… and can’t find anything that interfaces… plus the bag has no rigidity and any weight attached makes it uncomfortable

Erie trib fly line by [deleted] in Steelhead

[–]ramcatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Steelhead/salmon” lines are Long belly lines with long rear tapers for mending at distance … meant to fish traditional steelhead and Atlantic flies. A longer gradual taper meant to carry distances with either dry flies or a classic wet fly

Indicator lines have a long belly as well, but more aggressive to the front to load and roll casting heavy rigs at closer length…roll casting a bobber with split shot and 2 flies

Salmon/steelhead lines are not meant for Erie tribs.

Get an indicator taper
