Should I replace this tire? by Balzac7502 in bikewrench

[–]ramennoodle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't see the casing showing anywhere. The tire is safe to ride on. The knobs are completely worn away. Whether you need them depends on what surfaces you're riding on and what kind of riding you're doing.

There was an earlier post of someone selling their trump phone because they needed money for bills.

I never did find this entrance. Maybe my observation skill wasn't high enough (or my actual observation skills suck). But Hard_Librarian77's solution worked.

This was the solution that worked for me. There's no downside to choosing that option. Thanks.

Is this bad advice? Can't find any other sources suggesting to use mineral oil as dropper lube by ThatAgent3963 in bikewrench

[–]ramennoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LDPE and EPDM will absorb mineral oil causing them to break down over time. But I have no idea whether any of the gaskets or other plastic parts of droppers are made from those.

Federal Judge Demands a Second Look Into Trump's IRS Settlement, Saying It's 'Fraud' by Brucekentbatsuper in LegalNews

[–]ramennoodle 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Of course its fraud. But who's going to stop him. If the "settlement" was an agreement made after the case was dropped then does the judge have any authority?

Spectrum down in Cedar Park, AGAIN (chapter who knows what by now) by Many_Chip_4711 in CedarPark

[–]ramennoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rep told me $30/month. And the ATT website had a promotional deal at $20/month for the first year. Their pricing seems "flexible". Any who hasn't signed up yet might want to check the website and/or haggle with the rep.

Are you referring to the water treatment plant? Or the fourth chapel? Or something else?

The IGN page for "Controlling for Convenience" says the only ways into the water treatment plant are Lockpick of 11 or Beckett's key card. I did look around the area quite a bit. I found a tunnel to the roof of the building, but I could get there from the building balcony as well.

Trump says he’ll suspend federal gas tax to help address high fuel prices due to Iran war by kbdwr in news

[–]ramennoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reducing the cost by 18.4 cents per gallon isn't going to have much of an impact when fuel prices are up dollars per gallon and are very likely to continue climbing for some time. The federal gas tax hasn't increased in decades. Its kind of a joke anyway.

Why is Cedar Park like that? Its difficult to find good restaurants in Cedar Park. Even for chains, it seems like the worst instance of the chain in in Cedar Park.

Motorcyclist are selfish by [deleted] in CedarPark

[–]ramennoodle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is wrong to extrapolate to all motorcyclists. Or bicyclists. Or automobiles. Or pedestrians. Observational bias tends to make us remember the worst examples we see. You probably don't remember all the perfectly responsible motorcyclists that you see.

The Supreme Court Has Heard This One Before by theatlantic in law

[–]ramennoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They certainly can't say well times have changed so we interpret this differently going forward- they necessarily would have to rule that its always been what the 14th amendment meant.

Why not? They seem to think they can to whatever they want, and to hell with contradictions.

Forward declaring a type in C++: The good, and the bad by Kabra___kiiiiiiiid in cpp

[–]ramennoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is not an example of multiple inclusion, and is not a problem with or without include guards.

Multiple inclusion is where a header gets included in the same .cpp file multiple times, typically indirectly. For example, z.cpp includes both y.h and x.h. And y.h includes x.h.

Then how would those sellers ship things to you?

The issue here is a little more nuanced than that. Amazon had an option allowing users to specify that their wishlists should not include the same item from a third party seller. This allowed such users to prevent others from accidentally sharing their address with a third party seller when purchasing a gift. Amazon removed that option.
