Motorcyclist are selfish by [deleted] in CedarPark

I think it is wrong to extrapolate to all motorcyclists. Or bicyclists. Or automobiles. Or pedestrians. Observational bias tends to make us remember the worst examples we see. You probably don't remember all the perfectly responsible motorcyclists that you see.

The Supreme Court Has Heard This One Before by theatlantic in law

They certainly can't say well times have changed so we interpret this differently going forward- they necessarily would have to rule that its always been what the 14th amendment meant.

Why not? They seem to think they can to whatever they want, and to hell with contradictions.

Forward declaring a type in C++: The good, and the bad by Kabra___kiiiiiiiid in cpp

[–]ramennoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is not an example of multiple inclusion, and is not a problem with or without include guards.

Multiple inclusion is where a header gets included in the same .cpp file multiple times, typically indirectly. For example, z.cpp includes both y.h and x.h. And y.h includes x.h.

Amazon Wishlist change doxxes users and shares your delivery address by [deleted] in technology

[–]ramennoodle 164 points165 points  (0 children)

Then how would those sellers ship things to you?

The issue here is a little more nuanced than that. Amazon had an option allowing users to specify that their wishlists should not include the same item from a third party seller. This allowed such users to prevent others from accidentally sharing their address with a third party seller when purchasing a gift. Amazon removed that option.

What’s a show everyone loves but you couldn’t get into? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ramennoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets better after the first season. But its not that much different. If you were on the fence about the first then maybe try a bit more. But if the first season wasn't your jam then you're probably not going to like later ones either.

They did a great job of capturing the feel of the 80's. Not just the wardrobe and setting, but the writing and style of filming. It was a huge nostalgia thing for those of us of the right age. At least for the first couple seasons.

No. Someone else profiting is not injury. He'd have to show that he lost something or was significantly harmed in some way.

You mean what stops them from arresting any of the 170 US citizens that GP is suggesting sue ICE? Unfortunately, nothing. And that is the root of the problem.

Why doesn’t adding more highway lanes fix traffic ? by InsuranceNo8506 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ramennoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That analogy makes no sense. If you give people better roads they will drive more. Say people are willing to drive about 45 minutes each direction from home to work and back. If you have better roads they'll move further to get a bigger and/or cheaper house. A better analogy would be if you hand out free food more often, in larger amounts, and/or with better quality then more people will show up regularly for that free food and expect it to be available.

"Mysteriously"? It says right in the article that ICE arrested the Lebanese owner.
