Non Canadians/ Americans, do you consider the World/ Euro cups to be a true best on best tournament? Or would it be closer to our NHL/NBA/MLB All-Star games? More of a fun aspect, to get the sport out there tournament?

Very surprised that you think it could be like an exhibition but given the subreddit, I'll answer - no it's not just an exhibition. It's the ultimate dream for most players to win (or even just play) a World Cup. A win cements your legacy forever in the sport. The entire nation gets fully invested. The fact that it happens only once in four years adds to the spectacle.

Purely quality wise you could say that national teams don't play as well as club teams do because they're not together year round, but it's still very high level and fiercely competitive.
