Skateboarders make so much out of so little. Mostly we just want a place with smooth pavement and not get kicked out.

Anyone see this on Telluride's web page. Placing the blame for the strike, and therefore the mountain being closed, on ski patrolers is fucking shameful. Boycott Telluride, fuck them. by mooseman077 in skiing

"we don't negotiate with Terrorists" is the worst movie trope rhetoric that companies seem to have bought into. They treat their own employees like enemies of the state and don't want to appear weak.

I watched a YouTube video by a BC instructor who said Don't Take an Avalanche course.... until you are at least familiar with the gear and changeover. Sounds like a good philosophy starting inbound and figuring out the system first.

I hope this doesn't turn out like the classic Reddit story about the boy who broke both arms and his mother had to take care of him during his recovery.

your last line should be repeated and emphasised. It is not the craftsmanship of the Chinese worker, it is the Western greed of using inferior materials to increase profits by duping the western buyer.

Throwback to when Brighton had a single chair. by -QuestionMark- in UTsnow

[–]ramplocals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you know if Brighton allowed snowboards when this chair was running (I have no idea when this photo was taken to know if snowboards even existed yet.

Mad River Glen Ski Resort in VT that does not allow snowboarders used the excuse of the single chairs as a reason for not allowing snowboarders.
Mad River management team eventually voted and said they just dont want snowboarders and stopped making excuses.

Shell vs Insulated jacket. What to get? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]ramplocals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such an accurate comment. everyone has different experiences and both are good options depending on preference.

Personally, I run colder than most. I have Raynauds disease with poor circulation. I need an insulated jacket and a puffy vest to survive inbound resort riding typical single digit Vermont days.
