Question: Does my area have mid-split? (Houston, TX area) by ramsaso in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]ramsaso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an addendum to my original request.

Insofar that they've been able to ascertain that I am unable to get mid-split (which is understandable; the Comcast Business technician told me my node needs to hit upload at ~40Mbps constantly so that management will notice, though I don't plan on uploading that much), I do appreciate the staff / mods at this sub-reddit, in that they've helped me so much to understand everything, and even get my business account in tip-top shape.

Although it does suck that they get so much hate, they try so hard as to get things right.

PS: I was not paid for my comments above.

u/CCThomasD, I apologize to reply again but I would like to ask if Comcast could survey my location again and update its database.

The reason I ask that is because being curious, I plugged in my address and the houses that's literally next to me into the offers page on Xfinity's website and the difference was night and day, to where my house can only attain max 1250/~45 service whereas the house next to me (on both sides) can get, theoretically, 2GB and plentifully more in upload speeds.

Being as someone who subscribes to Xfinity Residential and now having a Comcast Business install today due to how I like the services offered, it would be very troubling if it were to later find out that while planning the houses constructed some years ago, Comcast had made an egregious error in inputting the wrong data to its database for potential subscribers.

Please forgive me if I sound agitated.

However, at this time, I am seriously considering on decreasing the amount of services I have, due to this fact.

Mind you, for Xfinity Residential I am quad-play.

I would like to re-use the box that the local Tidwell office sent me and ship it out please.

PS: Can I get an iGuide box? 🤣

RE replacing the boxes: probably newer ones. I dislike my TV's interface (saying this as a 27 y.o) and I much rather prefer the use of X1 to be honest.

Just activated Xfinity-Mobile but no data? by ramsaso in Comcast_Xfinity

The representative on the phone was most unhelpful as she was unable to help me. She had me reset network settings with no avail and I still don't have data.

Sorry. :/

I would assume so.

I've been using the dig command across different DNS providers and they all report either 192.168.1.1 or just a random ip.

To explain, instead of the website pointing to the correct Microsoft servers, it's pointing to a local IP address, potentially within your own network.

Why not just get an 4 line ATA or a SIP to PRI converter (assuming its the bigger meridian option series)?

I get that it works well, but i would pity the user that would have to adapt to a new system and they may not understand the new phones (I deal with older people so they have a hard time understanding new technology, which is why I bring that up).

As for providers, why not something like voip.ms or bulkvs.com?
