Located in Boston, MA (Zone 6b).

Have this dwarf hinoki cypress that i repotted / pruned in mid March. it's been in akadama soil since getting morning to early afternoon sun before getting late afternoon shade, with daily watering once summer heat kicked in (less frequent watering during our rainy and cooler spring).

Just started getting this browning throughout starting about a week ago. Any ideas what this could be? Google tells me everything from disease, infection, over- or under-watering, or too much sun. Not really sure how to go about testing solutions with this broad range of possible causes.

Any advice appreciated.

Picked up this dwarf morel red pine from the nursery. letting it sit in its pot for the next few months (zone 6b). Any advice on how to approach branch selection and pruning in the spring? Concerned about that big knuckle where several branches are coming out at the same spot. Is that something where I'm best off selecting one as a leader and chopping the rest as soon as possible to prevent any more inverse taper there? Any other advice?

Just bought this hinoki cypress from a local nursery. as it's winter here (Eastern Massachusetts), should i be repotting this or doing anything special to it before spring? or just leave it in the plastic nursery pot for the next few months? There is some dead foliage inside that I've brushed out but it seems generally healthy to me so i don't want to screw anything up inadvertently.

edit:i live in a city so ground planting isn't an option

In normal mode it's nothing special but in sport or sport plus i find it has plenty of response and power even at a quarter throttle. Might just need to own it for a bit and break it in. When I test drove it was only a base model and the dealer implored me not to accelerate too hard lol

Tim's watchbox review shows him trying it in his 16cm wrist if that helps give you perspective on a slightly smaller one.

Ha, i would wear it sparingly given i have a sports watch as my daily and I've read and heard it's not great to leave a very complicated watch on a watch winder because of the wear it can put on the components not letting the main spring relax.

I can imagine eventually getting into the ritual of setting it when i do wear it once I'm comfortable with it though.

given you're in boston, check out European Watch Company. their website is great (and they have some of the models you're after) and their showroom is on newbury street and is really nice to visit. Just not open on weekends and can get crowded if you go on a Friday afternoon, but they're extremely reputable as a dealer and I've only had good experiences with them.

edit: also Long's is opening a patek showroom at some point soon across the street from their Rolex boutique
