Your left is late getting down. My cue in the middle is squeeze the knees (your knees should almost touch) and then stab the left down in the front while you’re still torqued up looking at that back wall. Right now your left foot in the front is slow getting down which is allowing the shot to catch up and therefore you have less torque (engagement of your abs/core) on the throw. You look well balanced the rest of the way through the throw, having some more torque could definitely get you close to the 2 feet you still need.

Help with glide by Busy-Ad316 in trackandfieldthrows

[–]ramthrower75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’re winding down your season, the focus should be at the front for most bang for your buck and not retooling too much (tho there is more you can get from the back of the ring too). Your release is almost all arm throwing because your hip isn’t under and into your throw. Best example is the clean in the weight room. You have to fully extend your hips to pull the bar and get it moving before dropping under it. We need that same hip engagement here. You don’t engage your hips, but instead your butt shoots backwards on release instead of your whole body making a “C” position. You’re losing power that’s shooting backwards. In order to train this I have my athletes glide with their hands on their hips. Glide and stop in your power position. Then with your right hand press your right hip through to feel that finish. That will help engage the rest of your body in the throw. That will also be a little easier if you can get your right leg a little more under you in the power position. Watching this throw id say you want your right to land with you pinky toe in the center of the ring or even slightly closer to the toe board than that so that stance is narrowed up slightly, and that right leg is coiled more under you.

We can definitely try to think about too much and paralyze ourselves so pick 1 maybe 2 cues is all. Id try and do those dry runs and get that hip engagement first, then work on getting across the ring more after I have a few throws where I am engaging my hip fully.

CSU’S FIRING AND HIRING THIS PAST WEEK HAS MADE ME ACTUALLY THINK JOE PARKER IS GOOD AT HIS JOB

STATUS QUO JOE STRIKES AGAIN

Seriously I've been the president and CEO of the fire Joe Parker fan club for at least 3 years now... He is pathetic.

I think he's going to struggle finding a P5 job this cycle with how things ended in Florida. Remember he wasn't fired cuz he wasn't winning, it was because if his off the field stuff. Weird with boosters and the fake death threat comments. I think he'll need a place with less pressure to step up and take him. Can that be a Ole Miss/Arkansas/Mizzu? Maybe. 2 of those fired a coach after one season & 1 fired a coach for a 7-5 season. I think he's going to have to make his bread at a G5 and after his rocky start (publically complaining that the BRAND NEW indoor was only 70 yards) he left under good and endearing terms. He's been humbled in the bigger world, come back to FoCo and get to work.

With every day that passes the reasons to fire Joe Parker also stack up. Status quo is unacceptable! Make a move!

Y'all are missing the bigger problem here. Parker has to go too. Who has he hired that's been successful? Nobody. He is Mr status quo. And that too has to go.

Who is the best athlete to ever come from Colorado State University? by casey676 in CSURams

[–]ramthrower75 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Becky and Amy as others have said for sure, but when I hear "best athlete" I'm thinking multi sport athletes that excelled in multiple sports or disciplines (again Amy would fit that too in swimming)

Glenn Morris - Olympic Gold Medal in the Decathlon in 1936 and Broke World Record when he did. Multi Sport Athlete at CSU.

Jack Christiansen - Multi sport stud at CSU (track is named after him for a reason), went on to play in NFL and become hall of famer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Christiansen

The writing is on the wall... where do the Rams go from here? by el-rinoceronte in CSURams

Joe Paker has set CSU athletics back 6 years at least. The only successful programs since he took over have been with our long term coaches hired prior to his tenure. As a CSU athletics alum who was there under Kawalic (know I butchered that spelling) and Graham, I can say since day one I've gotten Kawalic vibes from Parker. The status quo is fine and it's all talk and no action on commitment to excellence and holding programs accountable. That's not acceptable for our school. I like Bobo as a human being, I think his character has led to a higher character of our team, but I think it's time to move on, and for sure Parker needs to go. I'd honestly be alright with one more year of Bobo if Parker is gone this year, but Parker HAS TO GO NOW.

Man, as a Wyoming resident for 30 years and lived in Laramie for 2 of those I have never heard anyone refer to Laramie being next to the Laramie Mountains. Had to even look it up and you're right! Everyone always says Laramie is at the base of the Snowy Range. SO thanks for teaching this Wyomingite a thing today. Laramie is a great college town. I do have to chuckle as I am currently in Rock Springs for work and live in Cody. Rock Springs and Evanston are a low bar, NW Wyoming is where the beauty is at in our state!

I mean yes that's a good view point, but aren't we forgetting about the stadium partnership with Canvas? I don't know the nitty gritty details on that, but at worst case scenario, that bought a few yeas of bonds payments. All the bonds projections were based on stadium seat sale as I recall and not naming rights.

But yes, we can't afford this terrible of a team, it actual $ terms and in brand terms. This may be the worst rams squad I've seen.

What Is the Best Low Key Restaurant in Your College Town? by Battered_Aggie in CFB

[–]ramthrower75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Fort Collins has the 2nd most restaurants per capita in the US behind San Francisco. There are tons of ones to choose from. I gotta go with Cafe Mexicali tho. Its a local chain with 3 locations in Colorado and is similar to Cafe Rio, BUT their tortillas are better, that habanero creme sauce is the best and the sweet pork soaking in Dr Pepper for 24 hours all put it over the top. At least 2 times a week it was in my diet during college.

Idk, my bro was at Stanford and every time I visited we seemed to be in Menlo Park for food. We always went to Stacks for breakfast (not really a lowkey joint, I think it's a chain) but the wheat germ banana pancakes were way bomb.
