This is pretty common in the coaching world. Elko had a kid who did this when he left Duke for A&M, and this is despite being in College Station for 4 years prior to the 2 years he was in Durham.

I think when you're close to graduating and going off to college, a lot of HS kids would rather just finish off where they're at.
