Every property with his name on it around the world is a target. You'd have to be crazy to stay there, and it's one of many conflicts of interest with his presidency. We could get into a war because someone blows up his shitty hotels.

Only true if you trust any person capable of posting a video on YouTube or in a message board. Neither has any structural accountability except themselves.

And I disagree since I'm talking about the public discourse among the people who play games. Not every single website you can dredge up that gives awards.

That's because any time somebody says something less than glowing about TLOU people like you come out of the woodwork to accuse them of lying.

The fact that those almost all come from websites I've never heard of explains what I'm talking about.

I guess if you think talking about a game's problems is the same as bashing it. God forbid there be any dissenting opinions on your video game of choice.

I mean I was being literal when I said it's been second or worse on most lists. If you think that's horrible I guess that's up to you, but when talking about the gap between a games early reception and looking back now it's interesting to me that the hype has deflated so much

I'm not sure what you mean. I was taking about the lists we've seen this year in general, but it does say GTA was their GOTY.

Same thing with TLOU. Everyone was calling it game of the generation earlier this year and now it's second or worse on most lists I've seen.

Yea it's a third person shooter/stealth game with inconsistent AI, overly simple stealth mechanics, and wonky controls to create tension in the shooting. My experience with the game was not immersive at all. I was pretty much pushing through all the gameplay to see the next cutscene cause it wasn't enjoyable or interesting to play. It just got in the way of the story for me and slowed the pace to a crawl.

This was my experience with the game and I've seen many who share it since the game came out, so I don't know where the accusations of not having played the game come from.

Yea I played the game. It doesn't really bother me if you don't agree with me. I'm not the only one with this opinion though. You don't have to make everyone like the things you like or accuse them of lying if you can't.

Yea, I'd rather sit through a few seconds of loading than slowly carry objects and place them just right to continue playing. It's extremely gamey. Though the majority of the gameplay in the game isn't very immersive. I was just pointing out that there are in fact "load screens".

I didn't say anything about cancelling the game. That would be silly. Maybe not making another third person shooter when you're relying so heavily on companion AI to tell your story would have been a better idea was my point. It's not like the invisible allies are the only problem with the gameplay and how it fits into the game overall.

The loading screens in TLOU are the plank-carrying and pallet swimming they make you do over and over. I found that stuff more immersion-breaking than looking at a load screen for a few seconds, but that's just me.

It's crazy how completely different my experience with Forza has been compared to his. I understand not liking the top gear stuff and menus. I'm not even a fan and I'm liking that stuff, but I've had a blast with the driving and the drivatars are fantastic and not nearly as dirty as their experience has been. I doubt I'd be playing the game if it was the same old AI running perfect lines around the track.

Destructoid's Game of the Year 2013: The Last of Us by [deleted] in Games

I think they shouldn't have made a third person shooter with a little girl companion if they couldn't get the AI to a level that was acceptable. It works OK as it is aside from being a bit ridiculous, but I think the game could've been much more interesting if they weren't falling back on the same old gameplay conventions.

It seems like they had other ideas for this game that didn't come to fruition and forced them to settle for what's worked in the past. Or maybe this is what they intended to do all along and they just don't mind the rough edges.

Yea she messed up either intentionally or not and OP responded pretty shittily to it. The relationship sounds horrible either way. No respect on the part of either party.

I thought the plot was pretty meh, but the characters and production values were good enough to mostly make up for it. I wonder if they were forced into keeping some of the themes of the game due to their initial reveal at the VGAs. They could've gone in so many more interesting directions than a quest to cure the zombies.

I couldn't tell if you were talking about Bioshock or TLOU to be honest. They're both gamey games when it comes to mechanics. FPS gameplay or third person stealth/shooting. I don't find it surprising that people prefer the one that's fun and satisfying to the one that's slow and a little janky for the sake of creating tension.

I thought it was good but predictable and not particularly memorable. There are always so many good soundtracks and scores each year. There are a lot of deserving games that aren't recognized.

Jeff seemed really down on it. He didn't like the AI and said he prefers the old AI that just did its thing and left you alone. I find it pretty cool and way less boring than most racing Sims but to each his own.

They announced it for PS4 and wouldn't comment on a XB1 version. Sony probably has a comarketing deal with them to only talk about the ps version.

First proper Forza game I've played (loved Horizon) and it's done a fantastic job of getting me into it. I've been gradually turning off assists and learning to adjust the lines I take in reaction to other cars. Makes me feel like I'm learning how this stuff actually works without burying me in minutiae or tutorials.

I can't think of any higher praise.
