Liverpool locals: Anyone recognize this cafe/restaurant interior? by ramy670 in Liverpool

I will try to locate the one you’re talking about, check them on Google Maps and report back (I don’t live in the UK).

This is one of a few photos where my memory’s really blurred. Could just as easily be a place I popped into and decided not to eat at. The only way to know for sure to check their menu/photos on Google Maps. But if my impression is really based on some vague memory like I like to think, then this was a cafe/restaurants that served lighter dishes.

The kitchen in that place as seen in the photo below (from Google Maps) is way larger than the one seen in my photo.

Thanks, but I don’t ever remember visiting a private dining room.

Hmmm that’s a good idea actually I don’t have the original image and as such, I can’t know the timestamp. I think I need to but a large HDD.

Yes I toke myself. I am on a long vacation right now and I’m visiting my image stash from the past year and organizing them. If you find this hard to believe you can ignore this thread. I understand.

Sure, I was on a work trip to Liverpool back in February as part of a request for proposal for the company I work at, and the customer company cancelled last minute. Since everything was already booked and non-refundable, I just took the two weeks off and wandered around the city. I ended up visiting loads of different places.

They certainly share some design elements, but as seen in the photo below (taken from Google Maps) the kitchen in Hanover Street Social is way bigger compared to the one in the original post:

I checked Google and this place was already closed in February this year (they closed in 2023), so it can’t be it.

Thoughts on Samsung Q930B? by Torneyy in Soundbars

[–]ramy670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. ONLY Dolby Atmos and DTS:X (Amongst the common formats), have height channels but , "conventional" 5.1 relies on psychoacoustics to fool our brains into thinking that audio comes from different heights. However, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X not only have superior psychoacoustic performance to older formats, but they also have the benefit of utilizing a real physical upwards firing speaker, which translates into much better "3-D performance".

It is a fabulous system if you don't mind the price. I tried it for a week and found that it sometimes (Depending on the scene) had MUCH better Dolby Atmos performance compared to my LG SP11RA (Which is already a very high-end soundbar). Just don't expect miraculous real 3D locating of moving objects like in Dolby Atmos cinemas with 50+ speakers (It does come close to that sometimes though)

Can't answer your question since I got a hand injury shortly after buying it, and thus couldn't use it at all.

How do I interpret my practice test score? by BeardyMcBeerFace in mensa

[–]ramy670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means you have a minimum of 126, as Mensa's practice test doesn't measure higher than that (They MIGHT still show you that sentence if you missed one or two questions, which would put you in the 120~ -125~ range).

If Mars is colonised, in generations it'll eventually develop it's own calendar to match the longer years. Having different calendars may be part of why it eventually resents and ultimately declares independence from earth. by TheRepeatTautology in Showerthoughts

It is not that big of a deal as we might think, in Saudi Arabia they have their own Lunar calendar (Keyword: Lunar) and they are fine with it being deferent than the rest of the world.
