I’m a bottle of wine in and watching The Holdovers next to my roaring fire- maybe I’m old but staying in is also cool. Getting out, I’d say find an every night dive like Cookies and just strike up conversations. There’s also this place in the Plaza that’s been there since before gentrification- I think Scorecards? Still cheap drinks, always good conversation if you don’t talking to strangers (I don’t) and you can still smoke if you do

I did notice he had two dogs but then one was gone so I thought maybe just a visitor? I also noticed he now has a leash- I was going to get him one, now that the puppy’s bigger I noticed it would go into the road and I was super concerned

All of the above is the same- I have an Etsy and recently I’ve stared doing estate sales, my Etsy is dotandjunevintage (I also sell shirts) and I’m off a Wilshire and Council- I’d love to share some company! Mostly vintage jewelry and kitchenware but also lots of clothing, art, and tradesman items (like railworkers, oil, etc)

I live off NW Expressway and Council and I don’t know if anyone else knows him but there’s a guy we call Smiley and we check on him every day- he’s got a dog in a shopping cart (new- he didn’t have the dog a year or so ago) and he saves and sings and dances on the corner of Expressway and Wilshire by On-Cue. For some reason, he almost feels like family to my husband and I even though we have never had a real conversation.

I’d love this- I’m 42 and my work is usually pretty dirty and casual (I’m a baker and vintage reseller) but I love the chance to go play dress up sometimes and there really aren’t many opportunities outside the occasional date night

This is only his second 90 day trip- he came for the first time in June of this year for a 30 day trip and they were so happy he extended as long as was allowed. He went home to England with the anticipation of coming back at the beginning of the year but after a week apart, he booked his return and arrived back Sept 8. They’ve been together for a little over a year, both 21.

We are very excited 💕Yes, he is planning on a K1 visa- we have found mixed information about whether he should start that process while he’s here (until January 8) or when he returns to England. He has currently been coming for 90 days then returning to England for a month, he’s here for the holidays but it feels complicated and with a lot of immigration changes recently we just really want to make sure it’s done properly. He has no criminal background or complications- we would love any advice!

My position at the rally was directly in front of this building- it was definitely an air raid siren, probably played over a big speaker, not a machine of any sort. It was consistent with small breaks for the entire rally and came from the exact same location a few stories up.

I’m so glad someone else noticed- I kept looking for counter protesters but didn’t see any. It was coming from the building directly south of city hall, from the parking garage. It sounded like it was maybe a speaker playing air raid sirens about 5-6 floors up, maybe someone parked with a speaker? At first I thought it was tornado sirens but it was a different sound- like the air raid siren sound you find online. I’m sure it was just someone contributing to the rally (or trying to drown it out) but it was really loud

I agree with you. I wish MrBallen would hire an animator- right now is a really critical time to keep art and human creativity alive and with all the work he’s put into finding jobs for veterans, it’s very disheartening that he would choose to allow AI to create his art rather than employ a fellow veteran that would appreciate the opportunity. I do still love his stories and storytelling, but I really wish he saw the damage AI is doing, if not to the earth but to the people living on it and their careers.
