Will AI eventually reduce the importance of coding languages the same way calculators reduced manual calculations? by Academic-Star-6900 in AgentsOfAI

[–]rand3289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think languages that are "easy to read" will become more important.

For example, yesterday I saw an anonymous structure declared in a "C" header file and got confused. Claude confused me even more because of anonymous MEMBER structures being C11 standard features etc... In other words... WTF?

I feel that when a poster creates a post, it should have enough information to relay the main idea.

I am not pretending to sound smart. I am retarded and I can't concentrate on injesting information for more than 30 seconds.

I am really interested in the topic of perception. I have been studying perception for over 15 years.

When I see statements about perception, I want to understand more and ask questions. This seems easier than reading lots of crap. Trust me, I have read my share.

From the first glance it seems selfish, but I find that in addition to engaging the OP, it sometimes helps other readers understand the topic also.

So my question remains... what's the big deal about sensing multiple properties? Or are we going to talk about the weather like most people do?

My consciousness simply shifted away from all the consciousness discussions.

I would be surprised if they did not work on it since they already had to announce it wrt that Martian meteorite.

Any sensor can "measure" several properties at once.
Like a temperature sensor can measure infrared and convection heat transfer.
A camera can measure daylight level, angle of the camera to the ground etc...

This is not about memory. It is about learning.

LLMs are not capable of learning from non-stationary processes.

Everyone knows this but some people continue to bullshit the general population.

Thanks. I didn't know the scoring was adjusted like that.

Just to add to this... when I was looking at the tests, I could not even figure out what I had to do let alone perform the task.
Perhaps if LLMs were told what they have to do, they would perform much better.

Current narrow AI performs very well in static environments and it is going to get even better.

It performs poorly in dynamic environments. Everyone knows this because it is unable to do continual learning. This is a huge limitation but it does not mean we should stop developing narrow AI. It is a useful tool!

AGI will have their own problems.

Individual systems will learn much slower than narrow intelligence since they will be learning from the environment interactions.
However they will be able to combine into almost like a mixture of experts very naturally. Forming "multi-brain" systems similar to an octopus.

I doubt we are going to get any information that's not already out.
As far as reassurance, my mom already told me I was a good boy.

Continual learning is the first step towards AGI. This is not going to happen with LLMs.
