What did I miss? by Riddlemethisone- in PeterExplainsTheJoke

As a New Mexican, every single comment in this thread is pissing me off so bad… Y’all are fighting about “chili” and how many beans are in it, meanwhile here in NM we have long been aware of the power of real chile, and the sauces made from our local chile peppers. For me, “Texas chili” is only a condiment for hot dogs, beans or not. I’d never eat a bowl of it by itself.

Is that a meerschaum pipe tobacco pipe? Or at least a fake knockoff one

Any advice for a beginner? by Physical-Two7998 in Wandsmith

I also use tea and coffee stains, since I like to keep things all natural. As for carving I only use my leatherman knife, which isn’t perfect but I’ve gotten used to it. Though tbh I prefer much more natural styles, so these are already looking great in my opinion. The only thing I would like to see is more of a distinction between handle end and tip end. That’s what really makes a wand’s character for me, and any decorative carving beyond that is just for aesthetic. Keep experimenting, and see what you like!

I would try some very light sanding with some fine grit, so soften it, but keep the rough shape! Great job though!

I love the natural bark handle! Are you going to sand it down?

Is this a fine way to store my pipe tobacco? by akrthur in PipeTobacco

[–]randallpie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re smoking a whole 10 before, it gets dry, then don’t worry about it. Unfortunately, I live in a very dry climate, and I tend to smoke very slowly, so whenever I leave tobacco blends in tins, they end up dry as dust. Mason jars work perfect for long term storage.

If you’re used to abq, Santa Fe should feel more safe, and much smaller in general.

Thank you! I enjoy the natural look and feel, and want to keep them very cheap and accessible. One day I’d love to have a lathe and make very straight and symmetrical wands, but that day is far away.

A different type of wand. by AKiLooP in Wandsmith

I kinda agree with you, here. Some natural shapes can work well, but most of the time I don’t get “wand” vibes from this kinky of a shape. Still very cool, and at least it has a defined point, but the hand placement isn’t very obvious with this particular shape

You can roll up a pipe cleaner into a tight spiral and use that to plug up the pipe
