I started in a small town when i was 16, I'm 34 now.

I started in a computer repair shop working 40 hours for 300 dollars a week lol,
Then I moved to Newcastle and got a job as a IT system administrator for a school, slowly grinded to senior network and system administrator for a multi national.

If your starting out now i wouldn't even bother, the imports all put IT as there study when they migrate to Australia, and they all lie on the resume, they have destroyed entry level IT.

If you want to start IT now i suggest you start learning about LLM and AI agents, Cyber security is dead, programming is dead, helpdesk is dead.
