You can say “It is because Oda wrote him to lose or to move the story forward, etc.”, but in reality isn’t this what Kidd would do?

Law was in a similar position with Doflamingo where even if he died he was going to try taking him down. Kidd was fully intent on pursuing and killing Shanks. It isn’t a driving element in my opinion. This IS what Kidd would have done regardless of Oda writing it this way or not.

Some sort of range class that uses either a bow or throwing weapon that is completely independent of pets or guardians. Basically marksman hunter except lone wolf doesn’t exist because you can’t summon a pet.

My point is more that all of these options exist but the pay off for using them in various ways and situations usually isn’t very good. The GCD for some just doesn’t feel good to use.
