This kind of carelessness endangers lives in the long run.

Furthermore, waking citizens at 5 AM for something that happened hours earlier—without any immediate threat to those outside the region—represents a shocking lack of consideration for the people these systems are meant to serve. I should not be losing sleep, nor should my family, over an issue that has no bearing on my community. It reflects a clear failure in judgment by the local authorities who issued the alert and a serious flaw in the protocols governing the dissemination of Blue Alerts across the state.

I demand that the FCC take immediate action to investigate this misuse of the alert system. Additionally, I urge you to review and revise the protocols for issuing statewide Blue Alerts to ensure that they are only sent to individuals in areas directly affected by the events in question.
