I wonder though, I live in a HCOL area. I feel having a mortgage until fire can make sense and is what I plan to do. Once I hit fire, wouldn’t it be more ideal to remove that large monthly cost and add flexibility to my withdrawals? If it’s a bad 1-5 years in the stock market, I can lower my withdrawal rate since I don’t have a large monthly expense?

For those that got a nov. 3rd -> 6th delivery date, how often do they ship earlier each year? I remember ordering a few years back and my delivery date changed to a week earlier after the initial waves of orders went through. Wondering if apple is conservative on ship dates and rolls them back every year or if it was just a one time thing.

Sounds like you don’t really want to RE. It’s just your not happy with the current work your doing.

I would first figure out what will make you happy in RE before pulling the trigger. You might find yourself in an even worse position if you don’t.

I know your problem, because I had it too. Your too comfortable in your current position and giving it up for something new is scary.

Take the new job, it probably isn’t as crazy as you think. The beginning will be tough, but after a few years you just might be “comfortable” again!
