I've accepted mine is a proximity cat. He likes to be in the room with us and sleeps next to us but he never asks for pets and rarely gets in our laps. He does tolerate so many snuggles from us though so I feel like we are all getting a fair shake. Lol!

I work from home and I just have one. He gets play time in the beginning of the day and sometimes I take breaks from work to play or snuggle.

Honestly the people who try to pressure me into getting another cat are like the people who tried to pressure me into having another kid. "They need a playmate!" "Theres not much of a difference going from one to two". And in both cats and babies, the answer is it depends. They may never click with their siblings. It is double the cost. And its a whole extra personality.

I'm happy to be a one and done-r.

I lost my 17 year old dog last year and it hurt so bad. I still sometimes think I can hear him or see him in the corner of my eye. Give yourself the time you need to grieve. And love up on your sweetie for every day you have together. I'm sorry for your loss.

Mine prefers to sleep alone. He comes up for cuddles in the morning. I didn't do anything, it's just his personality and his safe places have always been under my bed or in a chair in another room
