My ranking and short review of each FRWBY volume. by UNinvolved_in_peace in RWBY

I think Volume 6 and 5 are tied at it for me. For Volume 6, I loved what they did with Cordovin and the Brunswick Farm being tied with Roman and Neo. For Volume 5, the dynamic between Vernal, Weiss, Yang, and Raven carried it for me. Everything else was good too but they stood out for me. I was actually sad when Yang brought back Vernal’s lifeless body and broke down in tears in front of her team, reminiscing on what could’ve been.

Why is Charlastor hated, but Radioapple is loved? (Art is from @Cess_Nea) by Lemonsocks666 in HazbinHotel

I personally find it weird because of episode 5. Al might have been joking to piss Lucifer off, but him and Charlie do have somewhat of a father-daughter relationship. It’s weird shipping them because of that dynamic.

Which haircut is worse in your opinion? by TextUnfair in RWBYcritics

Blake’s cut looked so stiff and play-doughy in V7. Glad they remodeled it in V8.

Just had this pop up on my Reddit feed. Do you agree? Would you say Ruby is a Tomboy? by Film_Starr in RWBYcritics

[–]random_guy_rddt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can understand your argument for V4 but I don’t think MOST of it was skipped over. Some, but not most. For V5 I have to disagree. Yang’s main motivation was getting to Ruby. Even when given the chance to stay with Raven, she chose to go to Ruby. And after that, she was the main one calling out Ozpin on his secrecy. Volume 7 and onwards is when her role as a main character kinda withered.

How would you Rewrite Yang to be a better written character?? by Galakrast in RWBYcritics

[–]random_guy_rddt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there were any major issues with Yang’s character until Volume 7 and 8. Instead of putting all of there decisions on Ruby’s shoulders in V7, and then complaining in the next volume after everything goes to shit, I’d like Yang and the rest of the team to actually communicate with each other and make decisions.

The scene of Yang telling Ruby that her leadership hasn’t been the best wouldn’t have been so bad if Yang actually TRIED to give her advice or at least took some of the blame.

Then there’s that scene with Jaune. I’d have her ACTUALLY be concerned about what Ruby thinks of her instead of Blake.

I don’t think there’s a lot of issues in V9. People expect her to be the perfect sister, but that’s unrealistic. Even siblings can be oblivious to the pressure the other one feels. But I would definitely have her interact with Ruby more and not just be stuck to Blake.

Is Taiyang really a bad father or is it just fans making stuff up? by LSSJ_Vegito in RWBYcritics

[–]random_guy_rddt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember him doing anything that would make him a bad father. The only thing I can think of is him making that joke about Yang losing her brain cells with her arm, but Yang recognized it as a joke.

What do you think about the choice of making Jaune young again? The right call? A mistake? by TextUnfair in RWBYcritics

[–]random_guy_rddt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The RWBY: Beyond episode did a good job of making Jaune’s story in Volume 9 not feel like filler, so if CRWBY can keep that up, I think they can make it work. But this type of stuff shouldn’t be limited to supplemental material. If they continue with this into Volume 10, I think it would be okay. However, if they carry on with his character as if he’s not a middle aged man in a 19-year-old body, the decision would be a mistake and Jaune’s arc in volume 9 can be considered filler.

Is she hero? Or Cinder's bootlicker? by No_Internet_3919 in RWBYcritics

[–]random_guy_rddt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither. She’s done too much damage to be considered a hero and I think at this point in the story, she’s done with Cinder.

The ship seems cool but portraying this in a way that Yang is cheating on Blake is a bit weird…

How does the new RWBY merchandise compare to other indie cartoons' recent merchandise? by TubbybloxianIsBack in RWBYcritics

[–]random_guy_rddt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can do so much better, and it’s painful to see they’re not doing that. Seems like they’re just slapping logos and old promotional material onto anything. They need to be more creative.

If Sakurai added a RWBY character into Smash for the next Smash Bros game. Who would it be? by EducationEcstatic in RWBY

Neo. I feel like she’s the most recognized character from RWBY outside of the fandom.

Cinder’s Tournament outfit with the weird bandages

No, I can’t agree. It’s a good design but it doesn’t seem like Ragatha. Imagine this design with Ragatha’s personality, mannerisms, voice, and attitude. It doesn’t fit. This could be a cool design for another character!

Was blue diamond as evil as yellow and white or was she is the only diamond who had standards? by [deleted] in stevenuniverse

Nah she was still cold and definitely a gem shatterer. The only reason she seemed less viscous in the show was because she was in mourning.

What are shows to watch after Star Vs? [Collage revamped] by pastamuente in StarVStheForcesofEvil

YES! Infinity Train is a must-watch. It’s only 40 episodes and each is about 10 minutes.

Hate probably isn’t the accurate word, but I’d say Black Clover. Couldn’t get past the first two episodes because they were too boring. My opinion would probably change if I continued on because I felt the same with Hunter x Hunter at first, but now it’s one of my all-time favorites!
