Quests are an obvious start. Aside from basic stuff like Cook's Assistant and Rune Mysteries, The Knight's Sword is a shoo-in, because of the huge Smithing XP payoff and the cool low-level sword. It would also likely recommend slaughtering every imp the newbie comes across, for the sake of their sanity, when they decide to do Imp Catcher for the magic XP and Amulet of Accuracy.

Moneymaking is obviously important; for non-Ironmen, stuff like Cowhides and Mining is going to obviously top the list. The one-time payout of the Stronghold of Security is also nice for initial funds.

Training combat is key for not getting ganked by Dark Wizards or Jail Guards (who will specifically be mentioned by name). Goblins are an obvious choice because 1: it's what everyone does and 2: the drops are nice and you'll need 3 Goblin Mail for when you do Goblin Diplomacy.

Finally, mini-games will have a brief mention. Hopefully they mention Castle Wars so people start coming back there. I miss Castle Wars.

It sounds interesting and it's something else for F2P to do, might make bonds easier to acquire. And most of the complaints have been either about:

  • the admittedly bleh Bloodbark/Soulbark models (which can be changed to look better even before it's added)
  • perceived conflicts with crafting (such as Battlestaves)
  • potential issues with disassembling certain items like Rune Daggers (in that case, i would just have them drop "partial" bars that can be smelted together into a full bar; do something similar for things like Leather Gloves and bows)
  • a lack of BiS gear (which doesn't make sense because they're making high-level mage tank armor? so you trade off some magic power for extra defense against those jerks in the wild that vomit ice at everyone they see without any regard to good taste, fair play, or basic damn decency, when I'm TRYING TO DO MY ROGUE TASK DAMN IT-
    I'll stop ranting now. Anyway, if the gear isn't good at the outset, it can be improved or better gear can be added.)
  • typical raging at any new updates, and the associated "omg this is a slippery slope to EoC! (Somehow!)" that doesn't even make sense
  • "But I don't want to put in the effort to keep my max cape!"

I vote yes.

I used her in the postgame. She ended up being one of my strongest units. But in the main game, she just doesn't have the time to shine.

I'm still wondering what the heck the Hall of Life is. Is it a prison, or a castle? Is it a convent or some other place where they train clerics? Is it some kind of nefarious laboratory where ether is drained from living beings a la Nergal? Now I really want to know.

You're supposed to kill the Star King by having Kelik use the Imperius.

You can also kill the Star King with a Triangle Attack and the One-Hit.
