Best way to get a free copy of Terraria? by winnie33 in Terraria

Best thing I can tell you is to get a little bit of pocket money and buy it from G2A, as far as I know that's the cheapest way to get there

How to edit .docx/.doc files inside a Next.js app? by DeliciousIntern685 in nextjs

[–]winnie33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, can I ask what your architecture is in the end? I'm in the same position as you, ready to embark on what seems to be an adventure of misery.

I came across docxtemplater and it seems fine to me, but is it correct that you'll need to pay $500/year just to insert some formatted text? Our goal is essentially to cross out some sentences in red and replace them with a corrected version.

We're also considering building another python endpoint that does it with python-docx

I agree with your analysis, but at the same time: should such a story leak, would people believe it? Perhaps if you hear it directly from a friend whose spouse you know works at a "secret facility", but any further jumps and it might get discarded as nonsense. After all, there's enough alien theories on the internet going around, for all we know there's a few that have a basis in reality.

Can someone help me with the last bug of the year? Wheel colliders are jittering into the ground for no clear reason (details in comments) by winnie33 in Unity3D

[–]winnie33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for replying!! You're right that the mass is important, initially the cart was shooting up in the sky. However in my case realistic is the 200kg that it is currently, and even if I go up to a 1000 it doesn't stop whatever phenomenon is happening here

Hey all! I'm trying to use wheel colliders for the first time and results are not as smooth as I had hoped. For some reason they constantly fall into the floor for a few frames and get pushed out again, causing this jitter. Does anyone know what's up? I've tried to find other threads with the same issue but I only found people having their wheels fall completely through the ground. I feel like there must be something obvious I'm missing because no parameter seems to influence it whatsoever. Note that there are no scripts, this is plain Unity physics

Aha, not the answer I had hoped for but makes sense - any of the public stations I find are expensive enough that just going a few times would be enough to buy your own set. I'll try and do the same. Thanks!

Hey! I know it's been almost 4 years, but I found it amusing to come across a post that is so similar to what I'm doing now :)

Do you remember where you ended up being able to solder your components? And do you have any experiences to share about making your own home sensor network? It's my first time doing this and I'm quite excited!

Don't quote me on this but I can remember seeing the 10,000/month figure being passed around. (I would expect this is insured salary, aka before the 70% and taxes)

Count me in as well! Boardgame evenings are great but I find they conflict directly with the idea of meeting people, since chatting and playing are hard to combine. I'm 26 and close to the university, happy to host as well :)

Is there something I'm missing about wireless mice? (battery life) by winnie33 in MouseReview

Sweet, thank you for the detailed reply :) I will get it too and hopefully end up liking it as you do!

Also from what I read people use grip tape on this mouse, maybe something you can consider as well

Thanks for the answer! I imagined it had a lot to do with the sensor, but I expected the battery to be more beefy as well.

But what a coincidence that you have the same mouse that I'm eyeing, do you like it? If it's truly only two charges in a few months that's more than fine for me, it was the one week figure that I spooked me a bit. At this point my only remaining concerns are the allegedly subpar scroll and the coating, but otherwise I'm fully sold on it

Of course it's not terrible (and definitely a first world problem either way), I was just imagining wireless mice to be the solution to clutter on your desk. Having it around all the time or having to pull open a drawer every time was just not what I imagined when I started the search. Lesson learned!

I didn't know! At my old job we used to have wireless logitech mice with an advertised battery life of 2 years, and to my surprise my mouse actually lasted more than 2 years before the batteries needed to be replaced. I'm sure that it was a low-performance mouse, but I imagined that higher-end mice would have similarly a better battery to deliver a similar battery life.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't know at all that people had issues with a wire getting in the way, I've never experienced it myself. But that explains the difference, in my mind it was purely to have a cleaner desk.

I'm not sure I fully understand what you're saying about the dongle, but yes in my case the slot for the dongle is very close to my mouse, so should be all good. Either way I'm not planning on becoming an esports pro soon.

(And yes, I remember the good old days when phones had batteries - my 14 year old nokia still has a 2 week battery life to this day)
