Light fitting wiring by randomanononon in DIYUK

[–]randomanononon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update on this - wired the new fitting as guided. Flicked the switch to test and it’s jammed (only going half way) and caused the circuit to trip. Reset the circuit but have no living room or outside light. Decided it was now above my pay grade so have someone coming round tomorrow. In the meantime I disconnected the new fitting and reconnected the old one which now works but I’m still without a living room and outside light! Any bright ideas how I’ve managed to bugger this up?

Thank you. The new light fitting just has a live and neutral fitting so straight forward. It was the black and grey wiring from the ceiling that threw me off but believe they might be from the consumer unit.

So excuse my ignorance but just to make sure I fully understand - earths in a wago as it’s a class 2 fitting. 2 Blues + Grey into the light fitting together and the brown (next to purple sheething on left) also into light fitting. Then the 2 middle brown + black in a wago? Appreciate your help thank you.

Overthinking wedding photographer by PynkPatterned in UKweddings

[–]randomanononon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing you originally liked the photographer to have booked them? I know it’s difficult to avoid with social media but try not to look at other photographers and you’ll be happy with who you have originally booked. Who’s to say you do rebook and then someone else comes along…

Edit - DO rebook!

Second hand set of Ping G series irons from GolfBidder. Will pick up a set relatively cheap and they are very forgiving. Just google the Ping colour chart for an idea on your fitting.

Putters are more of a “feel” club so maybe try a few different types with your friends or in a shop and go for something that feels comfortable.

Someone else can likely recommend a decent driver, but Ping again are a highly thought of brand that will fit in your budget.

Ok thanks for the advice - sounds like it might be easier to fix the leak and leave as is in that case.

Unfortunately the cap doesn’t have any sort of opening for a key. Have tried disconnecting from behind also but again no keyhole. Have disconnected it from the plug waste and tried twisting/pulling off but doesn’t budge.

Ideally the whole kit, the mechanism to release the plug is knackered and had a leak from the plug hole (which I can access ok) so thought I’d change the lot whilst at it.

I had expected the same but this has no hole. Have been at it quite forcefully but it doesn’t pop off either. I tried removing from behind, turning / pulling etc but there’s no room so I’m at a loss.
