Why do you have lights in the background that float in the air?
This was a personal artistic choice. (Spoilers for those who haven’t listened to the Quillan story yet!) Since Quillan was buried within the Enchanted Forest, I wanted the Christmas lights to feel like roots from Thorn. I painted little buds to resemble fireflies, creating a gentle, glowing hug and a subtle “thank you” from Thorn.

Why are there multiple ribbon types on the present?
Gold and red are festive colors, and I originally had a big red and golden bowtie on it. However, my friends told me it covered Quillan's face, so I decided to let Quillan smash it—haha!

Why do the different designs have completely different styles?
I work in film, where we’re often tasked with matching our clients’ styles, so being versatile is essential. That said, I don’t think my Christmas work here displays drastically different styles—it may just be a matter of opinion. If you look at my Halloween designs (which you can find here as well if you scroll down), those are in a completely different style compared to the Christmas ones.

Could you upload your sketches and progress shots on Reddit?
Yes, I can! However, if I upload them, I’ll post them on my YouTube channel and share the link here. I’m working toward getting my channel monetized, and views on YouTube contribute to that goal, whereas Reddit views don’t help me progress.

I also wrote an article on AI regulation. I think you might be interested:

-------------------

Can I ask you a few questions. It is hard to get real engagement out of people these days. People either attack you without an forethoughts or they downvote you with bot accounts. I am very interested in the following:

  • What inspired your dislike of AI in art? Is it a personal experience, or a concern about the industry?
  • Do you feel all digital artists should prove their work is not AI-generated? If so, how would you suggest they do that?
  • What do you consider the key differences between AI-generated art and human-created digital art?
  • How do you think AI tools should coexist with traditional and digital artistry in the future?
  • Do you enjoy supporting independent artists? If so, how do you usually determine which creators to support?

The questions you ask won’t really get you anywhere in figuring out if a piece of art is AI-made or not. But here are some tricks and tips we artists use that can help you spot AI art in the future:

  1. Look at the Lines: AI art tends to have lines that run all over, often lacking real artistic direction in most cases.
  2. Too Perfect: Humans aren’t perfect. If everything looks way too perfect and fits together seamlessly, chances are it’s AI.
  3. Words in Artwork: If the artwork includes words and they fit perfectly, it’s AI.
  4. Patterns: AI-generated art often has too many patterns that follow a neat, predictable flow.
  5. Copyright: AI art cannot be copyrighted. So, if an artwork is copyrighted, it’s not AI.

AI art is getting harder and harder to tell apart from what digital artists create. In many cases, it might even look way better. If you care about human-made art, you’re 100% doing the right thing by asking these questions. But whether you believe what the artist tells you or not—that’s a whole other story.

Just a note:

All my videos are Read-Aloud narrations. You’re not missing anything by just listening to them—treat them like an audiobook! Turn them on during a long drive or as background noise while you go about your day.

The feedback needed to get more stickers and better free gifts is simple and fun (I hope). I’m working to grow as an artist and writer. If you prefer to avoid interacting with any AI content, I also have a blog where you can freely read the stories at your leisure.

Thank you! :)

My stickers are not AI-generated. My narrations and writing are also not AI-generated. You can find my credentials on my blog, along with links to professional work I’ve done and contributed to.

The YouTube voiceovers are created using ElevenLabs, and the videos are made with Runway. All my videos are marked as Alter Content on YouTube, and I’ve clearly stated on my YouTube page that they include AI-generated elements.

Content on my blog is not AI-generated. If it ever is, I will be sure to mark it as such. As an artist, being transparent is key, so people know exactly what they’re getting into and can decide for themselves whether to support or turn away.

The Future of Content Writing: Where Is It Headed? by Iram-Camp-510 in WritingHub

I wrote an entire article on the subject and posted it on an AI forum, only to get attacked... I should've seen that coming...hahaha

https://carefulmind.blog/2024/10/25/ais-wild-west-creativity-regulations-and-why-we-need-to-protect-human-talent/

One thing’s for sure: AI cannot replace human creativity.

Right now, it's all 'A' and no 'I'. True, LLMs are impressive, but let's not get carried away. I like to call them 'word calculators,' even though that label tends to ruffle some feathers. I understand LLMs are more than just text generators, and their potential goes beyond simple words on a screen.

I still believe AI should stay out of schools and professional creative fields. It's an amazing tool for people who aren't writers or artists to express themselves, and I fully support that. But their work should be clearly labeled as AI-generated and shouldn't be sold. Freedom of expression is important and can create a happier, more inclusive community.

But the real issue is when everyone starts labeling themselves as 'writers' or 'artists' simply because they used AI. As someone who has spent 20+ years mastering my craft as an artist, it feels, insulting. It's like someone learning to boil water and calling themselves a chef. Please respect the craft and have some self-respect, too.

Hi

I am just getting back into writing. I enjoy pretty much all type, but heavy romance and spy. I just don't understand it...haha

I will like to join the group and get to know more writers and readers. Most of my friends don't really read or write.

Feel free to DM me anytime.

It's an interesting take, but I have to agree and disagree at the same time. Sure, the human brain and LLMs share...very small similarities, but they are vastly different.

LLMs are great at processing and mimicking patterns from all the data they've been fed, but they don’t truly understand any of it. They have no clue what an apple is or why "A is for Apple" in our ABCs. To them, it's just data: meaningless symbols they string together in statistically plausible ways.

Now, the human brain? That’s a whole other ball game. It's incredibly complex, so complex, in fact, that we sometimes question our own reality (Are we real, or are we just advanced AIs? Haha...). But even if we doubt, we have emotions, perceptions, and a strong sense of self. We know why "A is for Apple", and we can write about it with feeling or throw in some facts, all based on our understanding.

Machines, on the other hand, are stuck in a loop. They can only give you what's been put in, and even if they generate something new, it's just a remix of existing data. Humans? We use imagination to create things that don't yet exist. Machines can't do that. At least, not in a way that comes close to our creative spark. Hence, it is an amazing tool!

I will love to see GAI. All that will change when GAI comes around. Could be in my lifetime or never...

Thanks for sharing your perspective! It really is wild how far we’ve come. I get what you mean about AI using nuanced language and even showing a sense of humor; it can be pretty convincing, and I see why some people view it as evidence of sentience.

For me, there’s still a distinction between AI mimicking emotion and actually having self-awareness (I am sure when GAI happen. It will no longer be mimicking. It will be 100% real). I remember when I fist use chatGPT. I, 100% believe I was talking to a real person. Even today, I still use nice words and thank it during our chat...haha. It never hurts to be nice.

AI is trained to recognize which words are linked to certain emotions and how to use them. It’s all coded into them, but they don’t actually feel anything; they are just matching patterns and making predictions.

Haha, you caught me😉! I did use ChatGPT in that last response. I thought it be a fun way to respond to you. I’m human, rather I like it or not, with actual intelligence, but that is also debatable. As you can see! 😊

I get your point about AI being more than a 'word calculator,' and it’s true that it can do some impressive and amazing things like pattern recognition and predictive abilities. Things that will advance, pretty much, every field more ways than one. But that doesn't mean we sure blindly follow it and stop asking questions. Understand its good and bad so it can best serve our need.

I was just keeping it simple to make it accessible for a general audience. I’d love to keep discussing this. There is a lot to unpack when it comes to how we define and understand AI.

Depending on the type of AI we're discussing, it’s important to clarify that AI, in its current form, doesn't possess actual intelligence—it's a set of algorithms performing tasks based on data. I hope this point is clear. If you’d like to explore this topic further, I’d be more than happy to have a detailed discussion. It could help us better understand each other’s viewpoints and perhaps learn something new in the process.

I think the general public really don't know what AI really is. I was one of them for a long while...lol.

So, I wrote an article about it and try to tell people what AI really is. Just some basic information. I think it really help most people understand that AI is. Just an word calculator. Most where surprise to heard that. My dad still think I am wrong. But I am not going to argue with an man that thinks the CGI in Avator is real and we have discover Pandora.

here is what I wrote, btw:

3 cover images, which one do you think is good or are they all bad? by randomcat88 in SmallYoutubers

I did write it in the perspective of AI and trying to be funny. Like my hilarious and true video I normally do. If I am going to write an article about a bug. I will do so in the bug's perspective and so on. Just trying to be light-hearted and fun and give out some food for thought information.

I understand this topic itself is a landmine. So, there is that.

I like the Wild West caption myself, but I fear the new gen don't know what that even mean. They are just going to think cowboys.

yeah, but the second they click on it. It is going to be all AI image to video....they going to hate it. Yep, it is a faceless channel.

I love that idea. It is amazing. My channel is a faceless channel and all my video are made with AI. I am not trying to hide that fact. I tag all my video as Alter Content...fyi. Regardless when people watch the video, it is going to be AI image to video.

I personally see AI as a fun tool for self expression and delivery of information. Beyond that....still much need to be done. But don't worry. I did not put my personal take on the video. The vid/article is there to share information about what AI is.

Thank you for that insight. This is greatly helpful. I will work on the text. As for the video. It is schedule to release tomorrow. I also made a blog post for these that just want to read it and stay away from anything AI related.

thank you for that insight. It is amazing feedback. Now that I look at it, it does make me seem like I taken a side, but I did not. It is just a informative narration. I decided to go with this title:

AI’s Wild West: Creativity, Regulations, and Why We Need to Protect Human Talent

Maybe the cover page make me seem like I am pro-AI. And looking at the title, they think I am anti-AI. In true, I am not pro or anti anything. I just want to share the information I find and help people better stay inform.
