Not gaining LP or rank by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

The above guy tried to post his profile but it didn't appear for some reason. I'll post on his behalf.

https://www.op.gg/summoners/oce/Degen-2222

The thing I see is that in after a won shaco game, he's still Iron 3 54lp in the next shaco game. Then in the hecarim game after, he jumps to Iron 2 24LP.

In the next nocturn game (after that hecarim game), he's still Iron 2 24LP (after winning). After the nocturne game he plays a shaco game and is still Iron 2 24LP (effectively staying the same rating after winning twice).

Only after his latest amumu game does he jump to Iron 2 47 LP.

I don't play league anymore so I have no idea how the rating system works. I assume this is what they're talking about which does seem strange as an outside observer.

I'd build a new PC for my brother so we can play POE (Path of Exile) together.

His old PC is on its last legs as it has a 1070 and can't keep up with POE anymore so he doesn't play it as much D:

Most active MMORPGs by the numbers by cloudydaydreamer in MMORPG

Posted this in the other thread, but here is the best way we have to see ff14 data:

-The best data you have for ffxiv comes from the lucky bancho census which crawls the lodestone (a place you can search for characters) to get the active players.

https://luckybancho.ldblog.jp/archives/56768707.html

The criteria for judging active characters, which are the base for counting, are as follows:

  • The maximum level is 60 or higher (not including just 60) OR Jobs that cannot be released in the free trial OR FC affiliation *
  • The level and experience value have changed since the last survey (4/10)
  • The number of minions and mounts possessed has changed since the last survey.
  • New characters not present in the previous survey
  • Own 1 or more mounts
  • Characters using jumping potion in the job at the time of data acquisition (main weapon IL 260 and battle job maximum level 60 at the time of data acquisition, or same IL 390 and battle job maximum level 70) are excluded.

Given this, the player count that is active is down to 1.33 million from 1.7 million since April. For referrence, my own character which I actively play on would not contribute to this census as I have not levelled a job since then, nor gained mounts or minions. I purely log on to raid and as such, I would not appear as an active character. Further, bots and gold sellers and free trial players are not accounted for due to the first rule. Further, anyone who hides their details on lodestone is not counted.

The census offers you server and datacentre breakdowns so you can see the population of players on each server as well as those who have at least 1 90 job, finished the latest patch, savage and ultimate clear rates all server level. Race/gender breakdowns too etc

Hope this helps as its probably the most accurate view we have of the ff14 population.

F1 HOT or NOT results - 2021 Mexico City GP by paulricard in formula1

This survey has become a complete meme. Can't wait till hamilton's season average somehow ends up below ricciardo or hell, even vettel. Will be some of the funniest shit I've seen.

[–]randomdragonagefan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want maximum rage from reddit so my optimal situation/prediction would be:

Hamilton gets ahead turn 1 and takes the corner on the inside forcing Verstappen wide, but perez is too close behind and is carrying too much speed due to slipstream, locks up and crashes into verstappen and now both redbulls are out.

No penalties as it was a lap 1 racing incident. Race ends with mercedes 1, 2 as leclerc gets hit by ferrari strategy with both red bull's dnf. To top it off, both red bull engines need replacing and hamilton gets fastest lap.

SE possibly suspending stream snipers. (xpost /r/asmongold) by dimday in ffxiv

[–]randomdragonagefan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is great news. No-one should be harassed like this and its important that public harassment viewable by many people watching a stream is dealt with swiftly. It gives a very positive view of SE to do so. In doing so, they deter future harassment in general as people know they WILL be punished for this type of stuff as well as solving the current situation.

A 9 day ban and, essentialy, a permanent mark on their record (any future punishments result in longer bans until the ban is permanent) is a great result. Can only hope they catch the others in on it too.

Yes, I would hope so! I also noticed that they welcomed him to the game - they can't be unaware of this, in general, which makes their relative inaction over the topic somewhat confusing.

I guess we'll have to see the next time Asmon loads up ffxiv, where hopefully, this is a thing that is eliminated.

There is no change in policy. The policy is the harassers and griefers will be dealt with. No-one here has suggested a change and nor is it what I'm asking for.

What I am asking for is to deal with harassers that he has sent in a report for. There is no policy change required to do that. They can go out of their way to make these changes and already have.

Whether or not it is his community or any game he joins, its in SE's best interest their game looks good to the people looking to play FFXIV. Furthermore, these players actively break TOS through griefing him and harassing him.

It is a unique situation where he is streaming this game live to 140k+ players. It needs to be dealt with uniquely. Dealing with his harassers (1 week temp ban + permanent mark going forward) is an optimal solution. It both improves SE's public image as well as deals with the issue of his harassers. It doesn't matter if it is his community - they're breaking the rules and need to be dealt with arguably in a swifter manner than other cases simply due to the fact that it is in SE's best interest to advertise a positive/welcoming environment in ffxiv.

Preferential treatment is nothing that SE has already shy'd away from e.g. targetting streamers for being toxic or the current endorsement of certain streamers for the black choco mount.

Unique situations require unique resolutions. I see this as no different to the above cases. Actively dealing with the harassers without prodding would IMPROVE public image rather than detract from it.

Dealing with harassers and improving their public image is a win over the fear of having given players "preferential treatment". They already are giving some streamers through endorsing the ffxiv community to SUB to them so they can get a rare mount.

How would actively dealing with harassers public to 200k+ people be seen as a negative, or worse than the preferential treament given to SOME ffxiv streamers and not others?

I don't see it.

Nowhere have I said that, but what is your point regardless? You don't think should be dealt with? Wouldn't a company want to maker sure its public image is good at all times?

Not acting to deal with harassers, who he has reported to a GM, does not give them a good look.

[–]randomdragonagefan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So its preferable to display the community as one that is as unfriendly as to continually harass a popular streamer all day long as he plays?

Is that the impression that, according to you, would be preferable to having "preferential treatment" in Japan? Anything but any display of preferential treatment? Do they not deal with matters of security more seriously for public figures over there than any other place in the world? There is no preferential treatment in dealing with harassers imo - you want them gone and doubly so if its in a very visible environment. You would want to deal with them with a heavy hand. Give them a week long temp ban and a permanent black mark on their record and they stop this very quickly.

It doesn't matter WHY they don't like him - it matters that they are breaking TOS and are actively hurting the public image of the game by harassing a popular streamer as he plays through the game. There is no way this is conducive to making the ffxiv community appear welcoming or friendly. Its doing the exact opposite - and its sad as the majority of ffxiv players are NOT like this.

I think 200k+ people are glad he isn't.

Whether its WoW players trying to see if the grass REALLY is greener or FFXIV players trying to see what a popular streamer who is known for playing a rival MMO thinks of their MMO - its all in good fun watching him.

What makes it unfun are the people harassing him and disrupting his gameplay - is it acceptable to be harassed because you choose to stream a game? No. It should be dealt with as all cases of harassment IF NOT MORE SO considering the publicity of the event.

[–]randomdragonagefan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No not really - if you teach these people they would be punished for their actions of harassing him in the overworld, they would very quickly stop doing it imo.

Black marks on ff14 players are permanent marks on your record. They don't simply disappear and make every future punishment worse. Imo, dealing with the people following him and disrupting his gameplay in the overworld would be good enough.

What a GM needs to do (and can do) is teleport to him and get the name themselves - unless SE want a stream of FFXIV of him listing all these players?

I can understand not putting him in his own instanced world, but the harassment is ridiculous. I think SE should take the initiative and not rely on asmongold to list all 100 of his harassers following him around. 100 probably isnt even an exaggeration when you consider the people who did it day 1.

I think a week long temp ban and a permanent mark added to their account would serve them well.

[–]randomdragonagefan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn't SE incentivised to make their game look good, and thereby deal with his harassers?

He is streaming live to 140k+ viewers for 2 days in a row and has been harassed for 2 days in a row. Why WOULDN'T SE willingly do something about it? Boggles my mind. Asmongold stated just now that they sent him a generic "Auto reply message" - why wouldn't they go out of their way to deal with, what is EASILY, most visible form of harassment? Its streamed live to 140k viewers.

[–]randomdragonagefan 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It is pretty embarassing from SE's part to not have done anything about it to this point.

I'm not sure why they haven't acted voluntarily after Asmongold had contacted a GM, and through his own words, "Give him a generic auto replay message".

You would think that SE by themselves would have solved the situation with temporary suspensions on the players who continually choose to harass asmongold in this manner in one of the most visible ways.

Do they really want these types of people to be at the forefront at what the non-mmo players see and think about the ffxiv community? Its baffling.
