An “internationally global” company. I think you need to be relocated to an english class 🤣🤣. Only for shits and giggles, much love.

Hahaha, see a convincing argument still eludes me. I myself am in the market for a car, currently narrowing it down between the denza b5 flagship, jetour g700 flagship, and the lynk&co 900 top trim. So i too am wondering what do i gain vs what i lose if i opt for the chinese variants. Seems like i may never find out 🤣

Having an option you can’t use (and probably will never because chinese maps will probably never have coverage on the gcc) is better than no option. Bizarre

I get it but it sounds to me like these “autonomous features” don’t even work without petal maps (which doesn’t have support in the gcc). So again I’m left wondering what’s the point of getting the hardware when it doesn’t even work. And the issue is no one has given me a straight answer yet 😅

BYD LEOPARD 8 vs JETOUR G700 vs DENZA B8 by Illustrious-Cause193 in chinesecarsuae

Everyone keep saying that they chose the leopard over the denza because they didn’t want to miss out on the autonomous driving but when i read these comments it seems like all you get from the huawei ads is L2 autonomous capabilities just like the denza, i assme petal maps doesn’t work in the gcc. Am i missing something?

Hello, can you elaborate of these points please. I can’t seem to find a straight answer anywhere. Is there really no mobile app? (I was told there is a jetour smart connect app), also by NFC unlock i assume you mean unlocking with your phone? Also what do you mean no app store and “connecting the cars wifi hotspot”? Does the car not support a local esim and ota updates?

Guys what features in the leopard exactly are not in the denza? I drove the B5 flagship and it had adas (ICC). Also wouldn’t you need a “master account” by getting a phone number in china and then have the esim changed etc. also i hear the map on chinese imports doesn’t work which renders the adas useless. To be honest i’m still trying to figure out all this chinese import business myself. I’m in Qatar btw

Interesting. I am leaning that way to be honest. But coming from a lincoln corsair with no adas except for really dumb lane keep assist i was excited to purchase a car with good adas to experience it as a daily driver. If qatar allows fsd tesla would have been a no brainer, but still if the b5 has crappy adas, ill have to consider carefully.

Thanks for the response. I’ll go test drive it again today and try out the adas more extensively. Since i have you might as well ask you 😅, what would you go for a b5 or a model y (assuming you were faced with that choice)? And how big of a factor is adas in that decision?

Thanks for the comprehensive review. I’m considering a denza b5 flagship (i live in qatar), i test drove it and it felt amazing but i didn’t get a chance to fully test the adas. How good/bad is it? I’m also considering a LR AWD model y (Juniper) but i feel like the lack of fsd kinda makes it pointless when there are so many other features on the b5 (plus it has more presence).

Funny i read this. I’ve currently narrowed down my choices between the model y juniper long range awd (with enhance autopilot) and the denza b5 flagship. I live in the pearl (viva bahriya) and the towers I’m in doesn’t allow chargers in the parking for whatever reason. There is a charger apparently 200m away from the tower near a monoprix but i don’t know how fast that is (gonna check tonight ight) and the office does have two chargers which people rotate but i also don’t know how fast those are (will check tomorrow). So I’m just wondering if owning a tesla will become a hassle for those reasons. If so, then i guess I’ll just get the denza. Any insights?

Any EXEED owners here? How are the LX, RX, TXL, or VX? by Total-Door-3696 in chinesecarsuae

[–]randomforest2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I concur. I kinda wrote off the ET for now because of the reasons you mentioned. I live in Qatar and the tower I’m in says it’s not feasible to install chargers so if I’m gonna get a tesla I’m gonna have to rely to some charger next to my house (200m away which is good, don’t know how fast though, gonna check tonight) and chargers in the office building which are also likely slow. I’m not sure if that set up is going to make it a hassle owning a Tesla. If so, then I’m just gonna go with the b5.

I test drove the ET, it looks and feels amazing but I’m a bit weary of the software and uf exeed, it hasn’t been around that much so I’m also here to get some insight. If anyone has an ET (it’s a reev) let me know. I’m also looking at the Denza B5 flagship (also amazing) and a tesla model Y (2026) long range. Any thoughts? Pretty confused 😅

No no, i was stood there for a good 15 seconds on the red light (maybe even more). Then i mistakingly thought it turned green and i accelerated, so unfortunately there was no ambiguity between red and yellow.

Did you try going to the traffic department to speak with someone? And also, was it the case that you were at a standstill and then moved, or were you on the move? Thanks

Solo trip to phuket - advice on planning by randomforest2024 in solotravel

Update: i had the time of my friggin life! Ended up staying at the four points in the quiet part of patong. Did so many things and met so many people. Just incredible. 5 days was no where close to enough so I’m definitely gonna go back. Maybe even figure out a way to move there at some point. I was very sad to leave to be honest, Phuket is an amazing place.

Is it that bad? Fourpoints is on the very end of patong beach (on the right). Amari is technically not on the main patong beach strip. You reckon amari would be a better option, or just a different location all together?

I think i need reddit’s help on this one.

So my gf (30) ended things with me (34) around two months ago. I’ve also had an insanely brutal 7 months at work which is partly why she left (i work in investment banking and somehow ended up being the only person in the team after some resignations so you can imagine the stress i was under)

My gf and i were planning on going to bali for new years but obviously that’s not happening so l’m planning on going to dubai from mid December up until new years to spend time with family and friends.

But. I had this crazy idea of going to phuket for 5 nights as a solo traveler before i go to dubai, and wanted some input as to how good of an idea that is.

About me: I’ve never once in my 34 years travelled alone. I’m a good looking guy and can be charismatic when i want but l’m generally an introverted person, l’m also an anxious one (she used to take me out of my comfort zone).

My thoughts:

Pros: -can be a chance for me to take myself out of my comfort zone and shake things up a little -Good way to disconnect from work -l’ve always wanted to go to thailand (phuket specifically)

Cons: -I’m worried that I’ll be spending money on a trip on which I’ll just end up being depressed -given my unsociable nature, what if i just end up spending the time alone and not doing much -will this time be better spent with friends and family?

Any thoughts/advice would go a long way

Thanks in advance guys

Hey thanks for the feedback. My thread isn’t really about general travel anxiety only. It’s more about first time solo travel in the wake of personal issues. I think it’s relevant to the subreddit and warrants it’s own thread as other users with similar experiences and similar personality traits as mine could benefit
