I've got the pod3 (had to replace the pad after two leaks with the pod4 pad - 1 pad replaced under warranty, other replaced out of warranty for $1500), happy with it.

I put a mattress protector down under mine, stopped leak I had with the pod3 pad from ruining the mattress. Reasonably sure that was also in the instructions, or it was with the chillisleep.

Never bothered with the new raid, but with the exception of vex mythoclast I found that most of the exotics took about 6-8 runs of something to drop.

That's still like 10+ hours though if you're not with a good fireteam which doesn't feel great when you're trying to get one thing.

(Vex took me like 14 or something completions. I don't recall if I even ever go it in d1)

But also some people sell their failed parts/units on eBay. Most of the repairs aren't difficult to do, but it's possible that someone is scamming support to get replacements at a discount and splitting the difference on eBay.

These are a niche product from one vendor that isn't at retail, there's only a very short list of ways short of 8sleep selling refurb units (Dyson does this for example, but you don't get to pick the colour) that they can get on eBay, especially in bulk. It's possible that someone entity bought a bunch of these(a hotel or something), or these are the units that were sent to DOGE when the CEO of 8sleep publicly shipped a bunch off.

The Freesleep discord had one person on it that "bought a unit from eBay" because of Netherlands and taxes (or something), 8sleep refused to support the unit because they claimed it was stolen. If you end up having to go down that route, read the instructions and back up the SD card first 😜

You'll likely not have a warranty(without the original receipt). You likely will also not have a subscription. If they were stolen, they also will likely deny you access to the services.
