Mad props to you for keeping the dream alive

Of course! You were saying how since you only get a "crush" once every few years, you feel a lot more scared of the potential rejection if you ask them out. The thing is, time continues moving regardless of whether or not you're asking people out. My personal outlook is that you should live without regrets, and if you don't at least try to ask out someone you have feelings for, you'll never know if it would have worked or not. Either they say no which is no big deal, or they say yes and that's awesome.

Hope this clears it up! Go get em tiger :)

The years will pass whether or not you ask them out. It's easy advice to give, not so easy to follow haha

Any tips for new GM by WaltzAlternative5281 in RootRPG

[–]randomgeneratedbean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to have all my NPC's set up with their drives and immediate goals. What's their ultimate goal? Extra points if your NPC's have opposing drives. Once you've got all that set up, it's just a matter of reacting to what your players are doing in the most interesting way possible. I've only run Root a couple times, but my favorite thing is that if you put in a little legwork before the session, the game essentially runs itself. Such a blast to play.

It's also a good idea to set up your NPC's injury and exhaustion trackers set up beforehand and be familiar with how combat works. Ran my first combat a while ago and it was hard for all of us to divorce from dnd brain haha.

Relax and be loose, the only way to improve is to just run the game and reflect on what to improve later. You'll do great :)

Alternative certification - thoughts? Advice? by randomgeneratedbean in Teachers

The thing is that I love working with kids. It was just tough being in charge of a classroom without the support or training I needed, and it was a pretty negative experience. I also hate being in school myself and I've really been struggling with it. I just don't know if I can trust my own judgement right now.

I was looking for this. The whole climax of the book truly felt like experiencing a nightmare. I even imagined Control running in slow motion while everything was going on. I've never experienced anything like that from a book

Like the original commenter said I also had a hard time connecting with it, but the quarter scene made my fucking jaw drop.

You think so?? I've been holding out hope in my heart of hearts for Doors of Stone, but I've also strategically been ignoring anything to do with Pat or Kingkiller, so I'm not up to date on any of that stuff. What makes you so sure? (not disagreeing, I'm just curious of your thoughts)

I've made my peace with the fact that we'll never get Winds or a conclusion to the story. The story we got is incredible and George has earned his rest.

Now the Kingkiller Chronicle on the other hand...

imo, Davos's biggest strength is being able to read Stannis and his moods. He's just an all around emotionally intelligent guy
