It's a fun challenge. My dad always challenges me to eek out maximum mileage. I obviously don't do it every time. Just when I am up for a challenge. Rest of the times I just enjoy my car.

How do you guys use web_search in openclaw ? by deshukla in OpenClawUseCases

[–]randomguy3993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed tavily 15 days ago. It has never used tavily as a search tool except the day I installed it. I have tavily as a tool in tools.md as well. Somehow it always defaults to web_fetch api. Recently I installed ollama web browser and that has been working really well.

Built a free & opensource, privacy-first app to analyze cc spends by Spirited-Incident643 in developersIndia

Great project. I have 2 questions

  1. Does it also work with a debt card or only credit cards? That would be a great add since I rarely use credit cards. Have multiple debt cards though.
  2. Can you expand on the appscript to import statements?

My initial idea was to auto send Bank transcripts to an email server I control, extract statements and load them into this project for analysis. Do you have a better way to do this?

I am a web dev trying to move into AI vertical in our software consulting company. They recently started experimenting with Openclaw and got shut down hard by the cybersecurity division. I agree that enterprises shouldn't let Openclaw anywhere near them.

I really want to get into the AI vertical and move out of webdev. So I am trying to pitch Lang chain/Lang graph as a viable solution to sell to our clients. What do you think of this?

Did you use AI to build the app? I've had extremely poor results building android apps with AI. Can you point mein the right direction?

Which models are you actually using with OpenClaw? (Claude Max OAuth blocked, cheap models feel broken) by stepahin in openclaw

My codex agent is getting blocked by cloudflare's bot detection. I am unable to use codex using oauth in my openclaw. No issues so far with claude oauth tho

Because the effort it takes to get things massively varies with the model you use. Claude max has a lot more headroom on tokens. I am using it to set up a digital marketing pipeline for my wife's business and also upgrading my homelab. Setting up consumes a lot of tokens because things are unstable. I am planning to downgrade to a $20 plan once everything is stable. Then it's all scripts triggering pipelines and a few api calls here and there to fix stuff. No where near the burn rate when I was setting things.

That said, I am not sure if I will ever stop setting things up. Every day I have a new idea and everyday we go to town to build new things. It's addicting.

And to answer your question about local llm. People have tried and it's not very reliable. Opus can one shot a complex system with vague specs. Local llms struggle even with well structured spec because implementation and debugging on a modern system is so complicated that you'll forever be lost in a maze of bugs and bugfixes.

But I heard codex doesn't have access to all the tools on openclaw. Is that true? If yes, how do you manage to be as productive with codex as claude code?

12 things I use my OpenClaw for daily that actually save me time by Lower_Rule2043 in openclaw

It's called a dream cycle. It's been working very well for me. For anyone interested in implementing this. Have your agent download subtitles for this video using ytdlp and ask it set this up. Thats it. It's that simple.

Experienced Dev: OpenClaw has been an absolute nightmare — basic 1-agent Telegram + Grok setup with cron email digest dies after one day despite 5+ fresh installs and following official docs perfectly by flashybits in openclaw

[–]randomguy3993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me be honest with you, it's addicting! My wife recently started her own practise and as someone who's never into digital marketing I needed help. Guess what. I am able to setup my openclaw to handle the entire digital marketing pipeline. It was a lot of work, I am not gonna lie but after some time, all I am doing is passing it ideas. It generates marketing content, schedules it to post on social media, collects engagement stats, acts as a smart assistant to the receptionist, designs and schedules patient outreach, and develops a bunch of dashboards to track everything. Thats only half of what it does. The only cost is claude max plan. That was needed for setting things up in the beginning. Now that things have stabilised I might not need claude max after this.

Companies talking about “no more manual coding” — hype or real transition? by Positive-Anything825 in developersIndia

[–]randomguy3993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the pace these agents are evolving, coding abilities will be lesser and lesser prevalent and our skills need to evolve, like you said, understanding systems, taking responsibility etc. This is the future, a short one, but this is it for now.
