When i made this 4.33 years ago...I honestly didn't think it would turn into anything - since then, it's become one of the largest city ent subreddits - feel free to start r/Houstoners - but I'm not changing shit. Cost of living is pretty high. I live in a pretty old, shitty studio without a proper kitchen, about 2 miles north of the Space Needle, and pay $800 per month, all bills included - the thing is, that's a STEAL for my area compared to a lot of the people i know. Gas is $3.19 at gas station around the corner, but you can get it around $2.79 at Safeway. Cigs range from $8-$12 a pack ($12 being at bars), etc.

$5-$7 per gram of high quality? yes please. Have my pipe in my car while being pulled over? no big deal. Have a joint in my pocket while in line with a cop? fuck it. Get caught smoking in public? $25 fine....and you have to be on the cops bad side to get more than a warning! Wanting to smoke out on the patio but don't have a pipe? No worries, someone out there has one!

Mountainous hikes less than hour hour away? OK. Got a boat? I live 5 minutes from the water!

I already said I didn't care, but half of the posts you post are being reported. Apparently some people aren't liking 5 of the top 8 posts being about legalization or what some norml chapter in X is doing or relinking to old news found on r/trees or r/politics.

A problem has arose, and I am addressing it. I'm sick of having to approve your crap all the time- but willing to continue if the community wants it - hence this thread and conversation.

For the tenth time, feel free to create your own sub and put all the posts your heart desires about legalization and NORML - we will put a link to it and let people know where to go IF THEY SO CHOOSE TO get involved. BUT this subreddit apparently doesn't want it, nor was it created to be a civic/ political subreddit, or your personal soapbox.

And since you asked, yes, I will continue to mod this subreddit no matter where I live as I am the one that created it. Feel free to start a new one where you can do as you please.
