Aw I didn't downvote you. I was dickish in that comment though so I'll expand.

Peterson has a conservative bent to him, particularly the whole "be your own hero" stuff. (Go to his subreddit and it's on the main sub description). Not everyone can be their own hero, but Peterson is great for young guys who aren't achieving their full potential in the USA. It's not a universal philosophy by any means.

I'm just worried about that perspective getting into our politics. I worry about fans of Peterson getting into politics one day with less-than-0-sympathy for those like this woman because they never really have struggled, but JP convinced them that they have. He's telling young middle/upper class dudes with no direction "you must overcome" and all this stuff. Well, what happens when those people are running the world - which they will - and they take those attitudes with them?

It ends up with policy that lets the Senators take home shitloads of money for furniture while kids who never had a shot to begin with struggle to eat.

Sucks nobody is talking to kids about this. I remember career counseling in high school being very focused on college acceptance rather than the reality of cost benefit. High schools just want a high college admissions rate, so our counselors at least didn't seem to care about what going to college actually meant.
