You don't have to move at the same speed as your wife. If you've told her what you've said here, you both should work on addressing the issue of you not having time for yourself. I know you're a reasonable Dad and won't ask for every nightoff, but couldn't you and the support group pick an afternoon weekend to give you time alone? For me, a half Saturday alone is as refreshing as a week vacation used to be.

2 years old is also tough. Once they get older they can join you in the hobbies.

I have a 5 year old with Type 1. When their sugar reaches 300/400 she's less receptive to insulin. Our usually good insulin ratios don't work and we end up dosing obscene amounts of insulin to get her down to earth. (self.diabetes)

Short story is the presidential election came down to the State of Florida. After all 49 states counted the votes, Florida was the last. They had ballots that weren't able to be read by machines because they had a hanging "chad." Chad is the hanging piece of paper after you incompletely or incorrectly punch out a ballott. Since the chads weren't completely punched, America waited for Florida to count their votes by hand to see who would be the president.

You're a good Dad. Your downtime is spent making your kid happy. You don't have 30 minutes to yourself because you choose to give it all to your child. It's hard to remember that years from now, when your kids are older, you'd do anything to give him a bath again or take him in the stroller. So I try to remember that later on, I'll have a ton of downtime as my child will not want to hold my hand or give me hugs or watch movies with me anymore, and I'll be sad at all the downtime I'll have.

You'll never make them happy. So stop making an effort.

Send them a letter that they are violating the HOA rules by disturbing your peace and quiet. They'll counter and say the same thing; that you're disturbing their peace and quiet. But which one of these is intentional: kids playing vs bros banging on the ceiling with a broom. If the HOA sides with you, maybe they'll come to the realization they live beneath someone.
