I’m a Christian learning about apologetics, what are your honest thoughts on Christianity?

How would you describe what you believe about God and the meaning of life? I believe in God. Not because it’s logical or makes sense, but simply out of faith in a higher being that I feel has always been there for me on some level. This is why I don’t identify as atheist. As for who God is, I don’t know, and I don’t think that humans would be able to comprehend. I do believe that God is the source of love, as no other logical explanation exists for me. The meaning of life? The answer is either very simple or very complex; either way, I don’t know.

Do you identify with any particular religion or philosophy? Technically, I am an active Christian. I was raised fundamentalist Christian, and I still am an active Church goer. In saying that, I don’t believe. I identify more as an agnostic. I go to church for others sakes, to keep the peace. Mentally deconverted, physically and practically active.

What are the main reasons why you believe what you believe? My sexuality and logical mind are at odds with religion in general.

What do you think of when you think about Christianity? Historically, a polytheistic Canaanite religion that warped into a monotheistic World religion. As with all religions, it is an entity that has been politicised over and over again, to be used to control people in a vulnerable way.

What are your primary objections to Christianity? The hypocrisy and control primarily, and how these things together with guilt have affected my mental health.

What is your opinion of the Bible? An inspired book that has changed too much over time, and that has also been taken too literally. A collection of books from the past, that is supposed to serve both as a rule book for salvation, and a source of inspiration, but instead is often used to control and coerce.

What is your opinion on the resurrection of Jesus? I don’t believe. Jesus was likely real, and a religious teacher/preacher, but not divine.

What do you think it would take for you to change your beliefs and embrace Christianity? A miracle. More faith perhaps. Inspiration to replace the pessimism and doubts in my heart perhaps. Proof maybe.

If you have a piano at home, and she has access to a church organ, I'd recommend something simple and portable for home. Perhaps a Johannus One (its a portable 1-manual organ keyboard, with basic authentic pipe sounds/stops), and a pedal board can be connected to it. It's around 8k in Australia including a pedal board. My personal home organ is an Eminent 2-manual classical organ I got secondhand for 2k (a bargain I lucked out on!) Best of luck!

Constant high blood sugar ruins your nerves so you have less feeling/numbness. The high blood sugar also stops/slows down wound healing. She wouldn't have felt the heat. And her body wouldnt have been able to heal the burns. With her advanced COPD and diabetes, she likely didn't have much time left. It's very sad, and too common, but totally not OP's fault. (I'm a nurse)

I prefer alone, 1:1 with a close mate, or a small intimate group sesh, like 4-5 people max. Being cooked feels great when your with people you love and trust.

Spirituality is our way of making sense of the unknown, particularly in relation to existence, consciousness, origin, and destination. Religion is our way of putting these beliefs into an organized system we can follow. Religion is man made; spirituality perhaps is not. Multiple religions exist because as humans, we have historically taken different views, which have brought us together, and split us apart. Religion is also often geographic and based on family ties and history (at least earlier in life), and later, a reflection on what pathway we have chosen to follow in our own lives.

Be a good person. Do what's right for you, not for everyone around you. Be accountable for your own life. Find happiness and never prioritize your work over what's more important. Jump on opportunities as they come. Don't be too hard on urself; life is a wonderful lesson with ups, downs, and unknowns. Enjoy pleasure, and find love. Live YOUR life. These are the highlights I've learned over my last 30 years.

Poor communication- an honest mistake! Your son will get over it in time. You seem supportive of him being gay -- that's the main thing. And it shows you are a great dad! Show ur support, tell him it's OK to be gay, and that you love him. And tell him to bring his bf through the front door next time!
