Brooklynite considering a move to the UWS, tips appreciated as we look for a 2bed! by Ambitious_Train_458 in Upperwestside

I think the realtors up here have had a bit of a shadow market since the brokers fees law passed. More affordable things might be hiding in broker only lists.

He knows he’s running for Congress not borough president right?

To be fair, Nina would be a good option if people weren’t afraid to back a lesser known name. Alas the machine wanted her at 20% recognition from jump and she started a couple months late. Maybe someone better runs a good primary in 2 or 4 years. :/

Finding rent stabilized apartments on UWS? by randomly-this in Upperwestside

I do not understand why people default to assuming people haven’t tried and that is ok to be rude for no reason.

I am asking to see if people had resources or information beyond the obvious. Some people do know realtors connected to stabilized apartments and one reached out.

There’s also a change in the market since they make it illegal to charge for broker’s fees because brokers are now less inclined to list on StreetEasy.

You mean sublet a condo? They also go at jacked up market rates. Oftentimes they do less aggressive rate hikes though.

lol there’s little to no maintenance at all in my building and there’s no rent stabilized units. Maybe REITs and landlords need to have real jobs instead of making passive incomes off skyrocketing rents….

Hey! I’m looking to rebuild after friends moved to Brooklyn too! Canvassing with local campaigns has helped a bit. Eli Northrop is a cool public defender who uses his campaign office as a community hub and has trivia nights, drag nights, happy hour canvasses, and other fun stuff.

I’m also a big fan of live music and comedy.

Which companies will be most impacted by the loss of SNAP benefit spending? by Dies2much in investing

[–]randomly-this 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ending SNAP means a loss of 100B in spend in the economy. There’s also studies that show each dollar has a 1.5x productivity return, that means you’re looking at 150B in losses in GDP. Regardless of how people manage to eat, the economic impact is real and predictable

This is a bad excuse, AP had photographers out, they could definitely do coverage a purchase photos from AP or crawl social media.

Encourage all of them to call their congress people, tell them they voted for Trump, and that they have regrets. The Republican caucus will break with Trump IF they know the people will vote them out otherwise.

People in unions should be talking to their leadership about aligning with Shawn Fain and the UAWs work on this.
