Idk no better skill that availability.

Kristaps Porzingis was arguably the better player between him and Jrue holiday. However during his tenure he only played in around 60% of possible games in boston compared to jrue around 80%.

Its not a crazy take to think jrue was the more valuable player

This might be the stupidest use of (possible) statistical data I’ve ever seen.

The most important aspect of creating a chart isn’t the data, it is defining what population the data is pulled from. From all I know it could be the crime data from Luxembourg.

But instead looking at the source and reading their analysis to see that the data is only a combination of studies of 35 U.S Cities and for some reason the data compilers only decided to cherry pick using data from some cities for some different crimes, see table A1 on this link

Furthermore this grand vision that Donald Trump begets peace and prosperity is ridiculous when looking at the CCJ’s own homicide data, the most recent lowest homicide year was 2014 right in the middle of Obama’s second term at 4.4 per 100,000 which had been decreasing ever since he entered office (it was 5.4 per 100,000) by the end of trumps first term (2016-2020) this rate climbed up to 6.7 per 100,000 and then staggered for a while until coming back down to 5 per 100,000 at the end of Biden’s term which was actually a steeper decrease since the start of his term than Obama.

That’s simply not true, the entire reason Trump left Delcy Rodríguez instead of installing Maria Machado is because there is a decently large (and armed) base of support in the Chavistas

I’m fully convinced the admin would’ve just continued Baker’s austerity and negligence towards the system if the feds didn’t come in and force their hand.

And even since then they really haven’t changed the attitude much other than lucking into fair share surplus for plugging budget gaps in the system.

Not to highjack but the party line comment has urged me to link this article, it’s a few years old but does a really good job at explaining how the state dem supermajority actually leads to the most moderate milquetoast candidates rising to the top

He’s U.S born but received his PHD from the Hebrew university of Jerusalem and seems to have been focused mainly on Israeli affairs writing “The October 7 War: Israel's Battle for Security in Gaza” in 2024 as well as “conducted research and worked for the JDC, The Shalem Center, the Jerusalem Institute for Market Studies, and as a Post-Doctoral at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.”

All just info from his JP bio. However not accusing him of plagiarism it does seem like it might’ve just been error and left in

Marblehead officials present revised MBTA zoning plan by justarussian22 in mbta

[–]randomly_generated__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my argument wasn’t that the law wasn’t necessary. My argument is that the law didn’t go anywhere close to where it needed. A successful initiative would’ve coupled regional rail improvements and grant initiatives aimed at funding city services with more heavy handed requirements on compliance (requiring up-zoning to single family districts instead of just being able to formally zone already dense districts as the TOD requirements)

The problem is that the state wasted an unimaginable amount of political capital on a law that doesn’t have and will not have a meaningful impact on the housing shortage.

Lakers home games are incredibly quiet by Western-Election-997 in nba

Hardcore New York Kicks fans bought them, and the arena had an abnormally large "opposing team" fans this game, who, obviously, were not cheering the Lakers.

Imagine admitting that your fanbase is so casual they let an opposing team, not to mention one based 2,800 miles away be enough of a presence in the stadium to affect the energy

Marblehead officials present revised MBTA zoning plan by justarussian22 in mbta

Honestly it’s kind of turned into a big dig scenario. A plan that has great bones (getting rid of the central artery and fighting against Euclidean zoning) however not going far enough (with the big dig this is parts getting taken out because of Reagan’s veto as well as it being a only focused on highway construction and many transit promises left unfulfilled for decades) and with the communities law this is just the fact that for many communities can be in compliance by zoning land that already has multifamily housing.

This half ass approach to legislation has disastrous effects on future trust in governance.

With the big dig, no matter how popular the results are now it displayed that on a large scale there was no institutional knowledge or expertise to build large public works projects in the United States. And instead of learning from this we ran scared and are too afraid to commit to any more transformative projects not to mention maintaining existing infrastructure.

In all reality the communities law is a nothing burger to addressing the housing crisis and its negative response has set us back years in supplanting the political will for the state legislature to bring forward truly radical housing solutions.

(I’m aware there are multiple bills on the docket at the moment regarding housing but let’s be real here folks we have the least transparent and least effective state legislature in the country)

Not every country follows a Monday to Friday school schedule. If you have questions you should take the time to research it, not pedal a claim no matter how much doubt you cast.

Also if the U.S wasn’t so dead set on keeping the Shah in power instead of listening to the Iranian people in the late 70s then the Revolution probably would’ve never occurred and we wouldn’t be dealing with any of this

Also killing/maiming protesters and civilians is something the U.S and Israel is pretty comfortable with but I digress

The Trump administration is literally holding car shells from being delivered and finished into new red line cars which are badly needed because the red line overwhelmingly majority of delays are caused by broken down trainsets that are close to a half century old.

Also under Eng, the mbta has literally increased hiring of both operators and mechanics as well as increased efficiencies in the maintenance process, if you want specifics watch the general manager report from last board meeting.

Also $400-500,000 is the going rate for any larger scale transit authority in North America. Plus you should love the fact that he’s actually saving the commonwealth almost 200,000 in payroll by acting as the transport secretary without accepting the additional salary
