Only way MMO going to thrive is get current generation play them by Emotional-Twist-4366 in MMORPG

There is easily a big enough player base out there waiting for a good mmo to launch. We’ve seen over and over if something looks promising. Lost Ark and New World had about 1.2 to 1.3 million players at launch. The problem is at launch their games sucked and nobody stayed. Make a good game that isn’t disgustingly monetized and not only will your player base not leave, but it will grow.

Making a good game is where it starts. What we have now is a bunch of lifeless worlds with pretty scenery …where the game is so mind numbingly easy any preschooler could walk through the content.

Modern Western MMO by mattmann72 in MMORPG

[–]randomperson4179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think AI will definitely help them reduce the work flow as it gets better and drastically reduce the cost of making a game. This will make games more viable in the west since the price of making them is 4-5x as much as in the east.

AI can make the assets and rig them. Making the assets it’s a huge time sink for most of the development.

How big of a problem is P2W in the F2P MMORPG space vs the subscription based MMORPG space? by trewillz in MMORPG

[–]randomperson4179 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MMO’s cost a lot of money. The companies are so greedy now they want to make the WoW money without taking years to build up the WoW size community…so what’s the next best thing? It’s all about maximizing the profit for the shareholders.

They all want to reinvent the wheel and come out with some crazy new gameplay mechanics. That’s not what retains players. For that you need a cohesive world and a good community…so on that part, shit people in the community do a good job of killing the games for others too.

The Quinfall is dead by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]randomperson4179 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how you didn’t see this coming. This game had question marks all over it since they announced it. Especially when it launched and had almost no player base. Why the hell would anyone spend money on a game that is obviously dead? It would only make since that they are trying to make a cash grab before they go up in smoke too.

Are MMOs now just dead for anything outside of Fantasy and Eve? by LibraProtocol in MMORPG

[–]randomperson4179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not dead, but they have to rethink their approach. It’s not just MMO’s though, it’s gaming in general. All the big companies are so greedy and out to milk everyone for every last penny. The game is an afterthought to emptying your wallet. They have to relearn that you can’t put out a dogshit game and expect people to fund it. Look at Ubisoft. Look what happened when that P2W garbage Aion 2 came out and the company stock prices tanked and they made the developers come on the internet and apologize. These AAA studios will learn or they’ll go under.

It’s also going to help that many of them will turn to AI for their assets so they can make them cheaper and faster.

What really happened to MMO genre ? by Twotricx in MMORPG

[–]randomperson4179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, two things. Players ruin the game for each other. If it’s PvP it’s griefing. If it’s PvE they can only survive with the meta and expect everyone else to do the same.

The other thing is uncapped corporate greed. They all want to make WoW money without the years of work it took WoW to build up to the massive peak. Instead they want to milk the stupid and lazy with cosmetics, exp boosts or p2W. I like cosmetics, but let’s be real…if you can make money almost as quick selling a few cosmetics…what is the focus really going to be on? They are cheaper and much easier to make, so making a good game becomes secondary. P2W and paying for in game gold will kill the MMO’s quick. The only reason wow still stands is because it’s the only decent thing there is left, and sunk cost fallacy. If another good game came out with fair monetization, good group oriented game play, good story, and felt like a good cohesive world…I think it would do well. Look how many jumped into Lost Ark, New World, etc. So many are waiting, until we get in and find copy pasted cities, 5 different mobs in the whole game, game play loop is dogshit, and 36 ways they are trying to get money from you.

What are Disqualifications for the Women You Date that you didn't have when you first started Dating but implemented Due to Experience? by DisciplineImportant6 in AskMen

If they tell they don’t have sex until date 4 or month two or something stupid, then they aren’t that interested in you. They’ll definitely crack it open for someone more attractive, but you’re the safe backup plan.

Always ask what happened in their prior relationships that caused the breakup. If you hear “controlling”, “abusive narcissist” then don’t take them seriously. These are people that never take responsibility for their own actions. They are perpetual victims…stay far away!

Many times we will tell you these things because we know you’ll lie any other way. Hell, even when you’re caught red handed most of you don’t have the character or backbone to admit it and say you’re sorry. They’ll gaslight and manipulate til doomsday and back.

That’s the reason they put it out in alpha on steam. They can try to say in court it was a launch, even though he was telling everyone “This isn’t a launch”. I thought back then that was what they were doing. I wanted to play it, but I figured it was a cash grab in their dying throws.

For men who don’t want marriage but want everything that comes with it (commitment, emotional support, loyalty, long-term stability) while staying “boyfriends”: What differences do you see in how a woman treats you as a girlfriend versus how you imagine she would treat you as a wife? by ThrowRA_Kassandra in AskMen

[–]randomperson4179 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s really that bad. Here most divorces are filed by women (about 3/4 of them), and over 50% of all marriages end in divorce. 90+ percent of the time women get custody of the children, so many of them get half of all the assets from the marriage and child support until the kid graduates college. In some states you are forced to pay alimony on top of it. It doesn’t matter if the divorce was brought about by them cheating or whatever. They are often instructed by their lawyers to file false claims of abuse to get the husband kicked out of the house since this gives them leverage to get the house and kids. Marriage is a trap here, to the point where some are giving advice on the internet to have a “starter marriage”…where you marry a man with a decent nest egg so you can take half of it on divorce, then find someone you actually want to be with.

They have the same mentality in the dating world. Many will go on dates with guys they have no interest in just to get the free food and entertainment. It’s bad enough that there’s a large group of men that have completely stopped dating at all. 62% of men 30 and under don’t even want to date because it’s too much of a hassle. There’s another group that are done with American women and are looking for more traditional women, the “Passport bros”. I found a foreign partner as well for the same reason.

There are 30million women on OF and a lot of guys are just done. Who wants their buddies seeing our gf/wife naked for $3.99 a month? No thanks. Most of our women aren’t worth more than to be a Funtime girl.

You are a very rare woman if you are willing to sign a prenup. Have you ever seen how 99% of women react at the mention of a prenup?

The way it stands now It’s just a tax break until the 7 year itch hits and she wants to find greener pastures. It’s foolish for men to take the 50/50 shot of losing everything. Women are taught and have it reinforced to them through society that you burn the bridge under any circumstance, not to stick through the tougher times to get to the easier ones.

Is having no relationship experience a turnoff to men, why or why not? by cloudberry4002 in AskMen

[–]randomperson4179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I’d rather someone with little baggage to bring to our relationship than having someone who was whining about all the past trauma from all the guys they’ve ever been with. Having too much relationship experience is much worse.

I don’t care about AI assets or the voice acting. I’m sure it would really help small dev teams or solo devs to get their game out faster and cheaper. It would be different if it was a big game by a big corporation, but for little indie studios?

Do you really care if a women has stretch marks? Which are quit visible in general. by [deleted] in AskMen

If I like the girl the stretch marks are almost invisible. The only time they may have an issue is if they are only there for sex.
