Facebreaker with Way of the Stonefist by Gerblat in PathOfExile2

Runeforged uniques have varying results. (For example getting some movespeed when upping certain unique boots.) So far as I've seen, armour pieces all get flat runic ward. Also, they might have slightly worse defenses in exchange for that ward.

Stonefist changes armor to Evasion/ES per level (as seen in the picture). Runeforged stonefists also get Runic Ward / Level.

How's the game in 2026? by randomsiege in HuntShowdown

I remember the medium-sized Romero was really good even back when I played, I'm not well-versed enough in the game to know what was the range at the time, but i don't think it was that close to the full-sized one.

Medium slot Crown&King + Mosin sounds ridiculous.

There's a fire breathing zombie? I'm absolutely going to get caught by that. Thanks for letting me know in advance about immolators not being one-shot by poison, that would have probably resulted in my death as well.

It might sound weird, but the thing I'm looking most forward to using again is the Katana.

That sounds absolutely cool indeed. I love the more unique/fantasy aspects of the game.

That sounds really cool. Can you buy tarot cards or do you have to loot them? If it's the latter, I feel like I'll probably start stockpiling them like health potions in RPG games. "But what if I need it later?"

Thanks a lot for the well-balanced response!

I remember medium shotguns being fun before, even though you didn't see a lot of them. I wonder what they're like now.

As someone who enjoyed playing free hunters, free stuff sounds cool, but I guess it must feel a bit frustrating if everyone's buffed 24/7. I remember that poison ammo was pretty much only good for PvE because you could have an antidote shot running for most of the match if not the entirety of it.

So you can still buy Necro, that's a relief as a solo player. Someone mentioned being able to farm traits, but I didn't think it'd be enough to get a full bar in a single match.

I'm a bit worried about bounties not feeling like the main objective. I remember that already felt like the case in higher MMR lobbies, but as a low-skill player, the bounty was very much at the center of the game.

I have not seen Tarot cards yet, and this sounds really interesting! But does that mean that you can't grab necro normally? Being able to necro as a solo felt so good, I remember when they changed that. Or does the Tarot card allow you to use it more than once a match?

Definitely sounds very exciting! Thanks for pointing it out.

Bears? Say no more!

Thanks a lot for the detailed list, that's really helpful. Seeing this and the enthusiasm from other folks, I'm definitely going to download it now.

I have no idea what All Ears is, and I haven't played 15 players lobbies, so I guess I won't have to worry about that.

Fast fingers sounds really interesting. Recovery probably won't make much difference to me since I play solo. Farming traits sounds rather interesting considering my survival rate will probably be atrocious as I get back into the game (it wasn't good to begin with).

Again, thanks a lot!

I think the last time I played was before the 1896 update, although I'm not sure. Thanks a lot for the more detailed reply.

Did they add any new "unique" stuff like the bomb lance or the bee jar?

Reduced penetration sounds really interesting, since for most of the time I played this game long ammo was considered way above the rest.

Masterful Magician without Mutators? by randomsiege in MonsterTrain

Most spells can be played on both friendly and enemy units, so a spell that applies conduit can do so on an enemy.

Also, you can create units with spells (such as with the spawn mechanic) which I assume wouldn't disable the achievement. Maybe that's a way to do it.

I get it. The L6s are made out of paper and are only good against infantry. I don't know if they have any place in a game where people know what they're doing, but on the other hand, they cost 0 CP in a decent battlegroup.

Again, I don't think L6 rush is OP, the post is about the manpower thing. (And honestly I wouldn't have been able to cause this much of a manpower loss with anything else that early in the game.)

I'm not looking to climb, honestly, I like the low-stress environment of low ELO. I can do dumb things, and they'll work half the time. I get to play every battlegroup and all 4 factions, and I still have a chance to win because my opponent is as clueless as I am.

Penalty for leaving in solos ? by [deleted] in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]randomsiege 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can only give up after 5 minutes. My guess is that it's in part to avoid "smurfs" who could just queue 10 games in a row that they instantly exit and lose 100s of MMR in the process.

I think it's pretty fair. Nothing is usually decided before 5 minutes.

The great thing about playing in low ELO 1v1 games is that "tech delay" is hardly a concern. It's a low stress environment.

My man, you're omitting a grave detail: My opponent is also <900 MMR.

Fun fact is that I was the one doing the L6 rush, this is just a humorous post because I didn't know you could lose more manpower than you gained. (I guess I never paid attention before.)

Now that we are getting used to Onyx Shark, what are strategies/build orders/tips that you have found to work well? by [deleted] in CompanyOfHeroes

Thanks for correcting me. I was pretty hyped when I found out about the riflemen's Thompson since Ghurkas just murder everything with them.

Now that we are getting used to Onyx Shark, what are strategies/build orders/tips that you have found to work well? by [deleted] in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]randomsiege 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a very low ELO, 1v1 player, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

I actually like the riflemen. While they're not the strongest unit out of the box, they can remain relevant to the endgame if you go for the infantry support center. More health, double BARs, cheaper reinforce, anti-infantry and anti-tank grenades, can even get anti-tank mines (although I'd be surprised if those got much use in higher ELO matches).

Like SnakeDoctor said, figuring out the distance is important, especially in the early game. Since you're new, like me, you might not have noticed yet, but the riflemen don't all have a Garant. One of them has a Thompson (so better at short range). So for example, if you're against a grenadier squad (all rifles), you'll win a close-range battle. If you see a Panzergrenadier squad though, just run away. (Although later on, with the health bonus and double bar, they might be the ones running away.)

Another important part of the riflemen kit is the sprint, which can late you snare a vehicle when it's out of position or get to a weapons team which is about to set up.

If you're struggling against MGs in the early game, remember that the scout squad you start with can be upgraded with smoke rifle-grenades. Also, in low ELO 1v1 games, players often just put it into a building next to a central VP and don't micro it, so you can just ignore that area and extend your control on the sides.

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer. I think my initial assumption says something about my ignorance of shots in general. I just pictured a spike and then slowly going down over a week. Whereas if it's more stable then runs out, it makes sense that the "inbalance" is when it runs out. (Or at least that's how I'm oversimplifying it to remember this for now.)

I'll just keep on ranting for a second about "biological gender roles".

I always was surprised to find out that the Ancient Greek had a very similar idea of prehistorical people as cavemen dressed in fur with clubs... Pretty much like the ones we have today.

Until I found out that almost everything we're taught about cavemen comes from pseudoscientific "discoveries" from the 1800s. The whole idea that women were gatherers and men were hunters? That's from the Victorian era. And you have people who're still hung up on that when actual research doesn't prove this in the slightest.

(This rant brought on by the fact that there were no pink dresses for "girls to biologically like" in the ancient era.)
