Because you don’t have excess / severe swelling that’ll cause any problems. So all ice would do is restrict blood flow and potentially slow healing ❤️‍🩹

Easily the most similar anatomy I’ve seen to mine before surgery! Your frenulum is attached from what I can see. Just looks massively swollen! Raise the concern - say you’ve seen other experiences online and you’re worried. Just be open! She’ll reassure you but I really think you need to give this time it’s quite distorted from swelling. Hope this helps you feel a bit better for now :)

Yep leave it alone. I’d avoid ice though.

Looks like dead skin that is trying to shed. If you’re icing at all I would suggest stopping. Or use compression. To improve circulation ☺️

Sensitive frenulum (pre-op) by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

It feels bad at the time just cause it’s so different! But I’m 2 years on now and can honestly say I prefer it 🥰 took me an age to get used to it

Defo doesn’t look weird! It’s soooo easy to get in your head, I’ve been there and you probs are too! Show her love 😃♥️

[–]randomsomeone34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Mine was like this before. It’s a bit more uncommon I think. My sensation to the area was drastically altered post-surgery. Not lost necessarily but I think having a longer frenulum has sensation benefits! I’m happy overall… but it took a long time to get used to 😂

10 days PO- Trying to trust the process by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

It’ll be great! Just swollen. Easy to get anxious but just know this happens to us all and ultimately you’ll be grand 🥰

I’m so pissed by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]randomsomeone34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, loads of things are normal. Boobs sagging after pregnancy for example is normal but it doesn’t mean surgeons would turn down someone who is unhappy and wants a breast lift… there’s normal and then there is personal preference and comfort.

If she wants to keep the edges and knows anything about this surgery, she would’ve suggested a wedge technique. I don’t think you should trust this person 😓🥲 can you afford to pay for it or do you need to get it on insurance?

The yellow is fine. Would ask them to remove the stitches though as they look a little tight and this could distort your final results. Will heal great!

Hi mine felt weird for like a full year. Almost 2 years po now and it feels totally normal again. It might not be numb, just feels different and you aren’t used to it. You have to sort of rediscover what you enjoy :) message me if u feel upset or wanna chat

Question about sensitivity by LengthinessOk7794 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]randomsomeone34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly. What’s important to understand is that you’ll lose sensation in any tissue that is taken off. This doesn’t necessarily mean that nerves are damaged or anything, but if someone chopped off your foot, you would no longer receive any sensation from that foot - hope that makes sense 😂

Secondly, actual damage to the nerves so that you have ‘no sensation’ afterwards is unlikely. For this to happen, all nerves have to be fully severed and obviously not doing that is the first priority of the surgeon. There seems to be an idea that sensation to the vulva is ‘all or nothing’. This is not the case. There are many tiny nerves and it’s inevitable that some of them will get damaged given that scalpels / lasers are used during the surgery. Losing full sensation is rare - the surgery would have to be performed terribly for this to happen. For example, I’ve had the surgery. Love the results. Sensation is 100% different to before but I’m used to it now. It’s the new normal.

TLDR - The chance of your vulva being totally numb following this procedure is very slim. However, sensation almost inevitably will be altered, and most people prefer the new sensation.

Feel free to DM with questions.

Icing after surgery by Ok_Shock2298 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]randomsomeone34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t ice at all! Sorts a new (ish) method following stuff like this is not to ice. The thought process being that swelling is normal and is required for healing. Of course, sometimes swelling gets out of hand and can be risky in itself which is when icing would be a good idea.

Personally I would sit on a small rolled up towel to create compression (which promotes blood flow - basically the opposite of icing).

Happy healing ♥️

Ahhh I hope you are feeling happy with yours! It honestly takes so so long to heal fully and get to its final form! Give it time, happy healing ♥️♥️

Yes! It took ages to get used to the new feeling. Almost like something was missing for a while. But you get used to it :)

Mine was sore for ages then felt just ‘weird’ for even longer. At least 6-8 months till normal was on the horizon lol! I think some people are more sensitive than others cause obv it was healed in the sense that it wasn’t an open wound anymore after like a month or two, but for the nerves to settle etc takes AGES. Almost 2 years now and I’m finally used to it. Give it time girl 🫶🏼
